Like other researchers, I’m horribly burned out from years of watching this hate speech get pushed from the fringes into the mainstream, observing the pattern, and trying to report it out so that others understand the patterns and mechanisms involved. It has scoured my soul raw.
And it’s deliberate, to keep us all frightened and afraid of gathering in groups, makes us easier to control. Mass shooters are fascism’s footsoldiers, not lost men looking for love or whatever the fuck else. They’re carrying out ultraviolence to usher in fascist ideologies

The lost and lonely part is only relevant because that’s how they get sucked into the disinfo. Easy to manipulate — and with that data of ours that @Facebook has handed out like candy to every repressive entity in the world, easy to find too
A company tracking predators and abusers, then empowering the worst and introducing them to wealthy backers to push constant streams of lies about how the world truly should be and then making those lies as visible as possible, what do you think that would do to a society?
