From France:
”So AZ signed EU contract claiming nothing hindered its abilities, then the day afterwards signed a ”U.K. 1st“ contract? And U.K. people are calling that a “smart Brexit move“ and calling us nationalists if we reciprocate?“
People this is what EU member govts deal w/
Most people pay little attention, and U.K. early approval absolutely helped in U.K. vaccine campaign undeniable success.
But as it goes, more&moreEU people tend to note that it wouldn’t have been a success without vaccines, which by then were delivered by EU facilities.
I know that in the U.K. demands for reciprocity were labelled as “trying to steal from us“. Please understand people in the EU see things differently. And expect their govts to be much more selfish than before as, apparently, this is the recipe for success.
I guess that’s understandable. Tho I keep thinking it’s not the way to go.
“All in it together“ etc etc.
And I thought the point of the vaccine was saving lives
When obviously it’s mostly about trolling 🤷♀️
I really hope the EU will ignore that pathetic and useless provocation and not enact a ban on Pfizer vaccines set to be exported to the U.K. right when AZ will under deliver
It may be a hard sell domestically -but ATST from April the EU will get enough vaccines, so it’s also possible to focus attention on that. Ultimately EU people couldn’t care less about the U.K. (or any other countries for that matter). They just want the nightmare to be over.
So there
If this is a race-to-prove-which-is-best, EU (roughly 6 weeks late compared to the U.K.) could maybe pass the finish line first by screwing the UK
The thing is, it’s not a race
It’s a team effort -well it should be
Again all in it together, no room for “needling“ anybody
A word about flags
When the new (RW) mayor of the town nearby got elected, one of the 1st things he did (aside from reinstating the parking fees that had been lifted by the previous mayor to ease the Covid crisis) was to set French flags garlands in the main street.
A dozen (1/2)
Obviously the town people were delighted with this amazing display of patriotism, right?
Well, not quite. We do that for special day like 14th of July, yes. But flags everywhere everyday?
Here's what they said:
"We happen to know what country we live in. Does he need a reminder?"
The flags are now gone.
Basically, the moral of this story is:
"Too many flags kill the flag"
Just saying for no specific reasons
Countries without freedom of assembly
North Korea
Egypt
United Arab Emirates
Iran
China
Cuba
Belarus
Bahrain
Russia
Saudi Arabia
Turkmenistan
...
UK (not executing the arrested, but where an assembly of one is too much already)
I can but assume Raab is refering to trade deals with countries sharing the UK's (*post-VoteLies*) values
A word about AZ vaccine "panic".
First thing, communication matters -and it's been dreadful.
So what are we talking about?
A (urgently needed, life-saving, efficient) vaccine has been rolled out.
At one point, an anomaly was detected 👇
Bear with me (1/n) pei.de/EN/newsroom/hp…
Why was an anomaly detected?
The truth is *we don't know*
Does it mean AZ vaccine mustn't be used ever again?
No, that's not what it means either.
Remember? During its trials, AZ noticed an anomaly and stopped the trial for investigations. For 1 case. eu.usatoday.com/story/news/hea…
What's happening now is the same process.
*Temporary* pause for investigating the anomaly.
What could explain this?
Do the people afflicted have a common point?
Should some people sharing that common point not be given this vaccine?
Was there a problem with a batch? (Can happen)

Corrupted banana republic govt sparks outrage after its announced it’s about to pass a new law that will make any public gathering of any kind illegal -unless it pleases so-called “People’s govt“
(No, this is not an old headline about North Korea)
Please note that all gathering of any kind can be deemed illegal on the ground it may RISK to be problematic.
Any protest, even the most peaceful, is at risk of being annoying.
That is effectively a total ban on inconvenient/annoying for govt protests, aka all protests.
