1. I think the first steps in race, tribe, war, genocide issues must include learning about guilt vs responsibility. Then we move to justice - punitive justice & restorative justice. White pple have a responsibility to right the wrongs of slavery & racism. So do Shona on Gukurahundi
2. The people who enslave or actively engage in racists acts must be punished. So do those who enact racist laws. Those who inherit systems built on racism have the responsibility to dismantle them even if it benefits them. Failure to do so is complicity.
3. The same applies to Gukurahundi. Pretty much the majority of Shona pple are not guilty of the massacres. But we also know that ZANU used the military to massacre non-Shona-speaking pple of Matabeleland under the pretext hunting for dissidents. Who did ZANU prefer? Shona pple
4. When Mugabe deployed the 5th Brigade, who did he claim he was protecting? Why didn't Shona pple speak out abt the abuses? Most didn't know the extend of what was happening, those who knew didn't care because it protected or perpetuated their privilege. They were not affected
5. I am against the claim that Gukurahundi was about decimating ZAPU only. I don't believe it. In 1980 elections ZAPU got 70 000 votes in Mashonaland. Had Gukrahundi been about just ZAPU, there would be mass graves in Mashonaland. It was a tool to systematically eliminate a tribe
6. For USA to move forward, white pple have to confront the ugly facts abt slavery &racism. None of those alive owned slaves but they have to take responsibility & right the wrongs of a system that benefitted their race at the expense of another. Not righting this is complicity
7. For Zimbabwe to move forward, we have to confront the ugly facts about Gukurahundi. Most of the pple of my generation were not there when it happened but as a majority tribe that stood to benefit from subjugation of another we have a responsibility to right the wrongs.
8. Some will say, "But we are not the ones in power?" It doesn't matter! We have to start putting ourselves in the victims' shoes and start saying "This ain't right!" This is what we saw with the Black Lives Matter movement. Some things can be done at individual level....
9. If you are a manager, recruiting officer any position of authority, stop condemning pple based on language or even the surname on their CV. Hire on merit, consider diversity too. Affirmative action is a necessary intervention even at individual level
10. At institutional/national level we shld start having conversations about restorative justice & affirmative action. I don't see anything wrong with enacting laws that provide for quota systems across the country.
11. At the very least every college in Zim must enroll no less than 25% students of Ndebele heritage. The same can apply to parastatals, govt depts& publicly traded companies. What I have written here does not negate the need for punitive justice for known perpetrators. Ndatenda!
12. [Addendum] White pple are not saviours of black pple. Black pple given the same opportunities, options and resources know best what is good for them. Likewise, Shona pple are not saviours for the Ndebele. It is about equal opportunity not charity.

1. I really got offended when I can across somebody who characterized Soul Jah Love as a junkie. Without knowing somebody's struggles it is easy to judge. Let me tell you how I nearly became a drug addict some 6 yrs ago. I broke my knee playing soccer. Had to have 2 surgeries
2. The first was a tibia fixation. The surgery was a bit complex & had to have 36 stitches afterwards. Before the surgery I was given a 1 week supply of hydrocodone. After the surgery I was given oxycodone. This drug made me feel like Jackie Chan especially when I asleep.
3. 2 months after surgery I began to realise that I was craving for this drug. I still had pain but I needed this for depression more than the pain. My supply got finished during the weekend & I called the Surgeon's office. I was given Tramadol which they said was not addictive.

1. I haven't commented on the Chinese vaccine. I have read some of the literature around it. My issue is that, there is little evidence that any of the trials that happened had black participants. This is important especially that this is an inactive virus vaccine.
2. Unlike recombinant & mRNA vaccines that usually have specific protein targets, the antibodies induced by this vaccine target many different proteins on the virus. What chance is there that some of the antibodies cld induce autoimmune reactions? Solution: Test in Black populatn
3. Given the low titre of antibodies produced in the first 2 weeks, it may be important that the government inform recipients that they may not have protection for up to 3 weeks. This will help folks to protect themselves more.

1. You see, debt is not always bad. The problem with Zimbabwe is that the money is expensive. I checked mortgage rates, they are in the ranges 10-15%. Thats damn expensive. In USA they are as low as 2.7%. This is really cheap. I have to ask myself, shld I buy cash or debt
2. Here is the Math. If I buy a $200 000 home in cash, that is money that I have put into a roof & wall. It does n't multiply unless I sell the home at a profit. Now, imagine I take a mortgage at 3% APR and 20% down payment, I pay $674 a month.
3. Now imagine I have a way to get 5% annually from investing the $160K remainder for just 10yrs. That wld be $260 000. In 30yrs it wld be $690K. You can pay off the remainder if you want. As you can see, assuming the house appreciated at 0.5% annually you wld be better off. ImageImage

1. Soon people will be left with no option but to confront their oppressors using the means they never thought capable! When Injustice is so blatant, when officers of court & journalists are persecuted what of us the rabble? Mayor Jacob Mafume must be released! #FreeJacobMafume Image
2. Alan Moyo is being persecuted for being the voice of the voiceless. We know that students are the vanguard of democracy. By incarcerating him, the bloodthirsty junta is trying to muffle the few voices of reason that remain. #FreeAllanMoyo Image
3. Fadzayi is a consistent voice for justice. She is being persecuted because she brings a fresh impetus to the stale politics of geriatrics and viagra-saturated patriarchal chauvinists. She must be freed! #FreeFadzayiMahere Image

1. This guy turned 9 today. As I struggle with the very notion of present-day Christianity, it is our experience that always reminds me that God is present & speaks to the least qualified. What I am going to share can be interpreted as miracles or coincidence. Choose your side!
2. After our 1st kid died at birth in 2009, we tried for another. We did all kinds of acrobatics to no avail. Every period was a struggle. Out of the blue, a Pastor Mangwiro sends an FB msg to my wife, "The Lord says, by this time next yr you will have a son, name him Ezekiel"🙄
3. My wife tells me, my response: "If I am to have a son, he will be Malcolm not Ezekiel" This was end of 2010. We then left for USA. 2011 was a very lean yr for us as we went thru immigration processes. We stayed with a good friend. Boom! She falls pregnant. Wrong timing!

1. When it comes to spiritual stuff, I don't take strong positions. My experiences shaped this. So, I had seizures on the same day of the year on 3 consecutive yrs. This was some 24 yrs ago. The 1st time, I was actually with Sekuru Amon Murwira kwaGutu. This was baffling.
2. One day my mum took me to this old man who lived close to Hande near Dorowa. We get there, the old man gives me a mukombe with some water & says go outside & wash your face. He gives me some bitter porridge that I was supposed to eat at home. That thing was poison🤢
3. What I didn't know was that he had told my mum that if I had seizures that night, that wld be the sign I am healed. Indeed I had seizures. It has been 24 yrs. I actually studied Med Lab Sciences coz of that. Unfortunately the old man died b4 I cld get a sample of that muti😭
