1. This guy turned 9 today. As I struggle with the very notion of present-day Christianity, it is our experience that always reminds me that God is present & speaks to the least qualified. What I am going to share can be interpreted as miracles or coincidence. Choose your side!
2. After our 1st kid died at birth in 2009, we tried for another. We did all kinds of acrobatics to no avail. Every period was a struggle. Out of the blue, a Pastor Mangwiro sends an FB msg to my wife, "The Lord says, by this time next yr you will have a son, name him Ezekiel"🙄
3. My wife tells me, my response: "If I am to have a son, he will be Malcolm not Ezekiel" This was end of 2010. We then left for USA. 2011 was a very lean yr for us as we went thru immigration processes. We stayed with a good friend. Boom! She falls pregnant. Wrong timing!
4. We had little savings, not enough to sustain pregnancy. A few wks later a lady we prayed with but had never met - Ashanti, calls us. "The Lord says, the son you're carrying is mine & I will take care of all his needs. So stop worrying. You'll have a girl just after this one"😳
5. Mai Mandikate - one of our motherly friends we met in USA shares with my wife that one of her elderly clients - Betty , had just lost her husband. Jo, writes a card to the lady. A few months later Betty invites us to her home for a sleep over.
6. Everyone around us was against this, the same applies on Betty's side. A black, immigrant & broke couple sleeping over at a 70 yr old white lady's place. What could go wrong? We decided not to go, when we told her she cried. Eventually, Joyce convinced us to go.
7. We had a good time. We cooked & watched "Driving Miss Daisy". To our shock Betty had bought all the baby clothes for the whole year. The Zim community had a baby shower & we had all the diapers that we needed for 2 yrs. It was gonna cost us $9000 for her hospital bills.
8. Mercy Health sent us a letter that they would cover 100% the costs of hospital visits & delivery. On 11 December 2011, a boy was born && by that time I had warmed up to the name "Ezekiel" 🙈.
9. If this was a film (which I am writing), this is where you would see some text.
- Janelle was born 17 months after Ezekiel & Joanne exactly 2 yrs after Janelle
- Betty is in her 80s & remains close to the kids
- Joyce is still our Zim mother in USA

1. When it comes to spiritual stuff, I don't take strong positions. My experiences shaped this. So, I had seizures on the same day of the year on 3 consecutive yrs. This was some 24 yrs ago. The 1st time, I was actually with Sekuru Amon Murwira kwaGutu. This was baffling.
2. One day my mum took me to this old man who lived close to Hande near Dorowa. We get there, the old man gives me a mukombe with some water & says go outside & wash your face. He gives me some bitter porridge that I was supposed to eat at home. That thing was poison🤢
3. What I didn't know was that he had told my mum that if I had seizures that night, that wld be the sign I am healed. Indeed I had seizures. It has been 24 yrs. I actually studied Med Lab Sciences coz of that. Unfortunately the old man died b4 I cld get a sample of that muti😭

1. Here is an inspiration thread. 4 yrs ago a friend of mine Elias started a WhatsApp group that a few of us shared stock trading tips. For some time we were about 10 pple. As Robinhood opened up, we had more pple in the group.
2. Some in the group made good money (>$100K) just trading stocks and options. More and more Zimbabweans joined this group. Those who had experience started doing lessons for the new folks and being paid a few $$ while pulling others thru the murky waters
3. Eventually the idea of a collective investment company was mooted. 45 members subscribed, we wanted 15. We went through the hassle of setting it up and getting all that we needed to trade. My only major contribution was the name - Zambezi Investments (Ndakarotswa 🙈)

1. A lot of white folks don't understand what systematic racism is. They believe blacks are lazy or are unwilling to compete. What they fail to understand is, even if we discard the whole 400 yrs of slavery, the American system has had black folks by the scrotum even up to now
2. Right now most of the baby boomers are retiring, they are the second generation beneficiaries of Redlining and the 1933-59 FHA mortgage policies. FHA financed 80 percent of all private home construction nationwide at its peak during WW2. The problem was...
3. FHA loans were just guaranteed by the govt but they were adminstered through banks. These banks provided loans based on risk models that excluded neighborhoods with higher probability of default. The neighborhoods tended to be black. You wld say this is just business but ...

1. @DMwonzora has made one of the biggest blunders of his political life. While it is understandable for him & Ms Khupe to be bitter given how power was whisked away from them, there is no way a sane & progressive politician wld find comfort in the bidding of the state machinery
2. That alone will make their outfit a dead horse. He might try to outsource leadership the way Welshman did to Mutambara but the writing is so bold! On the other hand, MDC as we knew it is dead. I am not sure which animals are going to come out of all this mess.
3. Some are saying the MDC MPs must resign but history is so pregnant with lessons. The 2005 split was precisely because of the senate issue. While to everybody else it was clear that the senate was unnecessary, behind the doors most wanted it for their own benefit. Let's watch!

1. Dear all. Fundraising & execution is a draining job. It takes its toll, that is why we worked to formalize the Citizens Initiative as a non-profit corporation. The Covid pandemic caught us while in the process and we have had to move with speed. For transparency purposes...
2. CI was incoporated in Ohio , USA and the board is made up of the following pple:
1. Freeman Chari(US)
2. Lorine Takaruza(US)
3. Wellington Mahohoma(Zim)
4. Thabang Nare (US)
5. Chenayi Mutambasere
6. Takawira Kapikinyu (US)
7. Sara Moses (Canada)
8. Dr Alex Magaisa(UK)
3. There is really nothing extraordinary about any of the pple in the board except they are pple who have supported previous initiatives, have a heart to help and care about the goals of the Citizens Initiative. We believe in less red tape, accountability and transparency

1. I'm writing this thread because I am frustrated by MDC's lack of impetus on this. After the 2013 election MT was trying to figure out how to rejuvenate the party. He was frustrated that the Scientific Organizing had failed. I had been a major proponent of data-driven decisions
2. Had a phone call in 2014 with the Treasurer Theresa Makone & MT wherein I explained the whole concept & the infrastructure needed. The party was supposed to know its members by every data point necessary. MT argued it was going to be expensive, I told them will do it for free.
3. It was 2 pronged. A membership registration portal & manual data capture of every person who attended MT's national rallies. MT took the matter to the National Council and Obert Gutu was tasked to publicize. The central figures were supposed to be Obert, Theresa & Doug.
