Per some alleged background papers and @HMOIndia report used by Vohra panel & published by @Outlookindia , one Hawala racketeer MoolChand Shah paid @PawarSpeaks Rs 72 cr between Dec 79 and Oct 92. Thread here
So thick was MoolChand’s relationship with @PawarSpeaks that detention order of Mar 89- No. SPL 3(A)PSA 0189/107 under COFEPOSA was "revoked by then Maha Gov" on May 10, 1990, "without assigning any reason" under orders of Pawar confidante and then HM Arun Mehta- 2 cr was price!
The man whose detention order was revoked by Arun Mehta, then Maha HM under @PawarSpeaks was his man Friday & played crucial role in diffusing crises faced by then Pawar Gov- well documented here in this India Today report - indiatoday.in/magazine/speci…
Had that detention order of Moolchand Shah been not revoked at the behest of @PawarSpeaks HM Arun Mehta, Shah would not have been able to bleed Mumbai via blasts- he was finally caught in connection with 2.5 cr funding of Tiger Memon

As a long term @BJP4India supporter, I have observed BJPs transformation from a fighting force into a ruling/governing force. PM Modi’s role and leadership in this transformation needs no more elaboration as it is a widely known and accepted fact. #BJP
Alongside BJPs transformation, even PM Modi also transformed himself and that alone explains his seamless and successful transition from a state CM to Indian PM with appeal that transcends our geographical boundaries. As his stock went up worldwide so did India’s.
So what is that sets apart PM Modi form all his contemporaries across political spectrum. What is that explains his sheer hard-work & hunger for success through last 7 years in Delhi (amidst all that 24X7 scrutiny & hate that he generates in the mind space of his detractors)?

Feb 14, 1996 edition of @Outlookindia published one story of Rajesh Joshi, titled “Pawar's Time Of Reckoning”
basing it on the secret papers from Vohra Committee and alleged that then Maharashtra politician and strongman @PawarSpeaks had links with hawala agents close to Dawood
The piece started with subheading-The Nexus- & read as under:
“after the 93 Bombay blasts,@HMOIndia collected considerable information on the links b/w Cong politicians & underworld. The details of this investigation were submitted to the Vohra Committee.
The excerpts of that piece began with a laundry list under the heading “Underworld Operator Political/Bureaucratic Patronage” and listed some prominent politicians of Maha and Guj- here was that list & it named against dons the name of netas/ note where @PawarSpeaks is! Image

Politics, as we see from Twitter is no way closer to what it is from inside. It is super easy to sermonise from outside in 280 characters. Ditto for governance. Neither are there any full stops in politics nor are permanent friends. Hindu revivalism need power consolidation!
Supporters on our side don’t have patience; their best weapon against own leaders is sarcasm. Bhai aur behno, jinhonne 2 baar desh mein election jeeta hai aur jo har jagah jeet rahe hain, wo jaante hain ki kab kya karna hai- power consolidation is a must for long term safety!
Folks used to abuse BJP day in day out for tying up with PDP- crude reality is that but for that experience of governing JK and subsequent win in 2019, 370 would still be in force. Power consolidation ke results aise aate hain..... lekin patience kahan se laayein!

So the defence journo @sneheshphilip wrote this piece in @ShekharGupta run @ThePrintIndia about @SecDef presser. If you read the piece, you will feel as if only issue that was discussed by Secy was on Human Rights with sideline comment abt Indo China standoff-typical media shit!
Defence and strategic affairs journalist at @ThePrintIndia - Sh @sneheshphilip wrote a piece -won’t quote link to give them free eyeballs. After reading that piece, you will feel as if US came with a msg following @SenatorMenendez ‘s letter & delivered it -however reality is diff
The organisers of @secdef s presser made it clear at the start that it will last for 20 mins and it started with first Qn thrown to Jim- journalist who was part of @SecDef s entourage and was travelling with him..benefit of hindsight helps me imagine the face of SP/VS at first Qn
