Eight days of water-only fasting induces super high ketones! but massive muscle wasting and testosterone plummets ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/P… so why would you do this
people can do some pretty impressive mental gymnastics while trying to rationalize some behaviors... 😬
Fasting -> reduced testicle size, lower testosterone, and muscle wasting.

It's not an April Fools' Day joke. Study: ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/P…
testicular autophagy
it usually works the other way around (see studies on TRT & testicle size).

In this #context, however: no food suggests it might be a bad time to reproduce -> stop wasting resources on maintaining testicle size

testosterone seems to like starchy carbs and saturated fat-rich foods. It doesn't care about protein and even shows a decline in some HP studies, possibly because protein is displacing starchy carbs &/or saturated fat

"Only because a lot of stuff can toss you out of ketosis. Fiber, protein, sugar alcohols, even coffee"

what now? *smh*

fibre & coffee: nope
1/n
high protein: maybe in an energy surplus; less likely in a deficit
2/n
and any dose of sugar alcohols high enough to 'kick you out of ketosis' would cause violent diarrhea. Not all of 'em do this, but still, the dose would have to be ridiculously high to be on that list

Three protein-containing meals per day seems to be the sweet spot for supporting muscle mass.

Three meals/day also showed better overall satiety compared to the same amount of food divided into two meals pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/18053311/
And for energy expenditure, better supported with three regular meals/day pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/15085170/

Fancy posh pet food is bullshit and may cause premature heart disease. It's not the "grain-free" part, it's the absence of adequate nutrition FOR DOGS todaysveterinarypractice.com/study-grain-fr…

Taurine deficiency and dilated cardiomyopathy in golden retrievers fed commercial diets

These puppies are getting taurine deficiency dilated cardiomyopathy because their owners are feeding them what they think is the good stuff or something. Please don't impose your personal dietary choices on your pets. They have different nutrient requirements.
