Normally nobody likes to talk about their home loans; they are personal.

Decided to talk about ours. Those taking home loans need to be very careful with banks as they overcharge you while you go on with your life.

In our case @syndicatebank & @canarabank are the culprit banks.
Ours is a high value home loan by any normal Indian standards. @syndicatebank treated it like one when we were given the home construction loan through their Syndnivas scheme.

It was sanctioned in 2015 at 10.5% floating rate of interest. In time @RBI reduced interest rates
By the time we actually used the loan rates had come down to 9.5%, so far so good. However, once the money was availed surprisingly the rate got fixed & never came down!

On our part we shifted out of TN to Bangalore in mid 2017 & requested the bank to shift our loan to Bluru too
Our continued requests to shift loan to Bangalore failed because for the home branch this is a high value asset. Earning lot of interest (we have paid more than a crore till now as repayment) to let it go was unacceptable - let customer be damned was @canarabank approach to us !!
In September 2020 due to Covid induced thrifty lifestyle we had some excess amount with us. We decided to prepay some portion of the loan.

Before prepayment, we asked statements & then we saw how the bank had defrauded us by not lowering interest rate in our home loan account.
We had signed for floating rate but the rate was fixed at 9.5% till August 2020. It was reduced to 9.1% as a favour to us after we complained.

After repeated requests to charge us interest like others failed, i held back payments (we had done the prepayment part already)
Bank Manager called, they said it will become NPA please pay, we complied on his assurance that he will reverse all additional collected amount from us & adjust it to principal.

Well it never happened. @canarabank which was advertising 6.9% rate of interest was charging me 9.1%
In February they reduced the rate to 7.4%

They blamed us for not reaching out & requesting them to reduce interest rate when Bank reduced it to new customers. I said it is not my job & told them clearly they are looting people like me & I will take it up at right forums.
To date @canarabank has continued to loot.

I have raised this issue with their grievance redressal officer with no response. I will be raising it next with banking ombudsman & eventually taking them to court.

Yes, they have not transferred the loan to Bangalore even now !!!
Who will punish these banks who overcharge us & get away defrauding customers ?

Can @RBI rein them in?

These guys threaten me with bad credit rating if I do not pay. That is one weapon they have against us.

We now need a rating of banks with respect to customer experience.
In my opinion branches involved in defrauding customers should be shut down by @RBI & the bank penalised heavily.

Banks which do not have mechanisms for oversight should be closed permanently. It should not matter if they are Pvt or Govt owned.

What about ppl who cannot fight?

Dear friends, I have been mining to find studies which are relevant to us.

CDC has recently published one such study of 150000 subjects who suffered from #Covid

Obesity as expected is "the biggest Risk factor"

Also those patients who had very low unhealthy BMI suffered more.
BMI 23 - 25 has least morbidity & mortality
BMI 30 - 35 hospitalisation increases to 7%, ICU admissions of less than 1%
BMI > 35 associated with increased hospitalisation, ICU admissions & increased mortality.
BMI of 45+ is associated with very high ICU admissions & mortality
Also on the other hand those with BMI less than 18 had increased hospitalisation, ICU admissions & mortality.

I am certain many of us who were treating Covid patients had understood this by now. This study just shows that obesity is a big risk along with unhealthy low BMI.

Met a young guy yesterday, he had hitchhiked & trekked his way back to work from Chhattisgarh.

Came to see me b'coz he had fever & was terribly scared that I will get Corona test done on him. He was worried that his employer will throw him out of job

If you care : mask up now !
There are a lot of people who have survived the virus but are not able to survive the loss of income.

They cannot afford to lose even one day's wages. It is what keeps them "alive". They need to feed their families & it is our responsibility to ensure they are not starved.
They are not asking for charity from you or the Govt.

The money you gave to PM fund did not reach these poor people. The Govt schemes & freebies were looted by middle men. It has happened before & it will happen again.

They are only asking only for their jobs back nothing else

A 21 yr young girl came to me with severe pain abdomen. She was diagnosed with PCOD (quite common USG finding now) & taking treatment for the same.

The pain was unusually severe was associated with lot of belching by the girl. She jumped in agony when her abdomen was touched
With good history taking it was clear that she had inhaled chemicals while working in a R&D facility of a drug major. While she was told by a doctor the previous day that her problem was aggravated PCOD we did not agree with it.

Asked our Industrial Health Expert to investigate
Meanwhile her enzyme levels which indicate acute pancreatitis were all elevated, CT & USG showed inflamed edematous pancreas.

Our Industrial Health Expert came back with the report that the chemicals girl had inadvertently inhaled during work can cause pancreatitis

Thread on #AyurvedicSurgeons

I have been quiet on this issue because I have read history of medicine in India & written about it in my published articles. You can check them out on my blog

Ayurveda got stoned by the British during the period they ruled India. Let us agree that+
Let us also agree that the tradition of Guru Shishya Parampare was lost during this period in Ayurveda.

Creation of Medical Register & Registered Medical Practitioners where traditional medicine doctors including Ayurveda were not registered literally killed Ayurveda practices+
Ayurveda practitioners of 18th & early 19th century had to face lot of problems because of this.

Did you know that Apothecaries & Doctors of Allopathic medicine were the first brown sahibs??

The labourers estates of South India were converted to churchi using their influence

So slowly we are talking about Infection Fatality Rate

According to CDC of US it is 0.65% for Americans

32 million Americans less than 10% population has been infected by Covid

Regional Antibody studies show that it varies from place to place also varies dramatically with age.
For example only 0.003% of people less than 19 years of age showed antibodies to Covid virus whereas 5.4% were positive for antibodies among 70+ age group.

Why was not answered convincingly. We do not know why susceptible are infected more.
If you are above 85 years & you get infected then there is 28+% chance that you will die of Covid.

75 - 84 years it is 18% death if Covid positive

65 - 74 it is 8%

50 - 64 it is 2%

39 - 49 it is 0.6%

29 - 38 it is 0.2%

Teenage to 28 it is 0.06%

Twinkle age it is 0.02%

550 that is the number of Doctors dead due to Covid contracting it while treating Covid patients & in India

67 doctors are dead in similar fashion in Karnataka.
Case Fatality Rate for Covid among doctors treating Covid patients & non Covid patients is 36.4.

This is more than 22 times the the CFR of non doctor population of India which is 1.6.

Post Covid Syndrome is also more seen among doctors.

Doctors running OPDs are worst affected.
Pvt Doctors are not covered under Govt insurance for Covid warriors which is gross injustice while doctors working in Govt hospitals have not got leave in last 7 months making them more vulnerable to Covid infection.
