AHS is aware that some vaccine clinics in Alberta are experiencing long line ups of individuals waiting to receive their vaccine. Everyone is eager to receive their immunization. All those who have booked their appointments will be vaccinated.
We have added additional staff and signage at sites to encourage people with appointments to wait in their vehicles until their appointment times.
Each appointment is booked in 10-minute increments. This helps ensure we can maintain social distancing at all immunization clinics. Some individuals are arriving at appointments 30 – 60 minutes in advance, and as a result, wait lines are forming outside some of the facilities.
More than 108,000 Albertans 75 years & older have now booked their COVID-19 immunization appointments. There are appts available through 811 or the online booking tool in all zones. There is currently minimal or no wait to book using the online tool at ahs.ca/covidvaccine.
