Democracy 101 Making it harder to vote isn't an issue of culture, it's based on a lie that led to a violent insurrection. It's about HR 1 and HR 4. If Florida passed a law that let everyone vote but TV pundits would you think it's ok because it's not bad?

Why do you get to decide for the people who see new barriers to voting that they are stupid to call for a boycott because they may lose money?

Laws rarely discriminate overtly. If this was a good bill the Governor could end this by opening it up for one month of public hearings and a new vote. They raced it through, always a sign that there's mischief.

The preamble to Georgia's bill is based on a lie about the election. The law enshrines the lie. When the courts interpret the bill they will use the preamble to determine if the measures are reasonable. The lie will perpetuate voter suppression for years.

There's a section in the bill that lets one person challenge as many voters as they choose. They can challenge applications for absentee ballots. 2 people can paralyze the election. One challenging every Republican, the other challenging every Democrat.

These laws are carefully drafted to make sure the states have the powers that will let the courts overturn the election. The courts didn't rule against the GOP because they agreed with the Dems. They had no legal basis for ruling on Trump's side. These laws change that.

If NY laws are worse, I'm sure that the people fighting the Georgia law will fight to amend the NY law. Sports moved teams to states that let them open during the pandemic.

Georgia is still pursuing felony charges against a state Senator for knocking on Kemp's door while he was signing the bill surrounded by white legislators. Wake up. Why keep targeting people fighting for a fair vote?

These laws are designed to take back the majority. Day 1 guns on the floor of the House. Day 2 armed protesters allowed in the Capitol. That's how it works in Michigan. Day 3 replace the school curriculum to teach about Qanon as a patriotic group.

Day 4 force the FBI to show up at house hearings and bring all the evidence they have against Republicans and then hold hearings about lies made up by the GOP. Day 5 overturn House elections. Is this really what you want for America?

Why should Americans who believe in free and fair elections give up a sport because the pundits think their voice is more important than the rest of the country? @JoeNBC @MichaelSteele A challenge:

Invite the non-partisan voting rights groups to explain what's in the Georgia Bill and the hundreds of others bill. Ask them to talk about HR 1 and HR 4 which will solve many of the problems and end the state abuse of election rights.
