There’s another court proceeding going on this week you may have missed — and it gets wackier by the day.

The NRA is in court defending its bankruptcy petition. Here are the standout moments so far:
A filing from the New York AG’s office details the NRA’s private jet expenditures between 2015 and 2019.

They total over $11.5 million. These are some of the guests on said private flights:
If your NRA bankruptcy bingo card says “payments to Russia,” you are a lucky winner!
Imagine draining $40,000 from your employer to pay for your son’s wedding … and still being employed.
Wayne LaPierre, the long-time executive VP of the NRA, shacked up on a 108-foot luxury yacht as an escape from … mass shootings?

LaPierre on the yacht escape: “... I remember getting there going, ‘Thank God I’m safe, nobody can get me here.’”…
Closing out with a pointed question from gun control advocate @shannonrwatts:

“The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good friend with a yacht?”

Gov. Asa Hutchinson (R-AR) announces he has vetoed HB 1570, the bill that would restrict care for trans youth.
Gov. Asa Hutchinson (R-AR) calls HB 1570 a “vast government overreach”:

“While in some instances the state must act to protect life, the state should not presume to jump into the middle of every medical, human, and ethical issue.”
Of note: Hutchinson is popular in the state and holds significant power over his party, but the Arkansas Legislature can override a veto with a simple majority so the bill is far from dead.
