A very, very small number of people may react badly to AZ vaccine.
Does it mean it shouldn’t be used? No.
Does it mean scientists shouldn’t try to understand why? No.
Should the public be warned so the very very small number gets medical attention if needed? Yes.
In an ideal world where patents are waived and all countries produce lots of vaccine, and countries work together, we could simply chose what vaccine works best for what segment of the population and organise globally. Not what we are doing. So we’re stuck with risk mitigation.
The risk of catching Covid and things not going well are much higher than vaccine side effect. So getting the vaccine is the thing to do -while being wary of extremely rare potential side effect.
Signs to watch here. Again it’s very, very rare. And not exactly the 1st time a drug has unexpected rare side effects. In the meanwhile monitoring and research continue -which FTR should build trust, not erase it.

Well it could if it was able to sell the left instead of pandering to the right
It's never going to be righter than the right -altho given the current situation I probably should say far righter than far right
Oh wait probably that would require facing the worst govt ever -right?
You don't get back the 'forgotten Brits' by emulating the Brexit Party
You get them back by offering them a decent life -with something fast & simple like UBI
You get them back by holding the tricksters & fraudsters to account
Not by condoning their behaviour
#BreakingNews (@Keir_Starmer?)
The UK is a nation of leftards. Trust that these RW think tankers did not came to that conclusion because they wanted to.
There's a reason so much money and disinfo is poured into gaslighting. Don't play their game.

A thread not related to politics (for once)
About how what seems to be out of reach sometimes isn’t
Before to sell my house I had a dream: One of these shiny huge new tablet *that comes with a pencil* 🤩
Then I sold my house &knew for sure I didn’t have the money 😢
*but*
Hang on Image
I still had my faithful (second hand) iPad2 (yep. Still working. A little slow is all) and my brand new (second hand, only 7 year old) almost not broken phone
And suddenly, the miracle happened:
I realised there *are* pencils for not exactly brand new tablet and phones
Back to 🤩 Image
(Yes I did spend a little less than €20).
And it works!
Which is a delight because, you know, big fingers on tiny screen ain’t that fun -I’m not that patient, it’s exhausting.
Basically those two drawings express how unfrustrated I felt. ImageImage

People who think the BBC could actually do that 👇without heads rolling, raise your hand?
And yes you can treat the subject with more subtlety -If you want people to say you willingly downplayed the whole thing
There is no way to patriotically treat that (even with the big flag)
Now the BBC-that-once-was would indeed have been able to mention that story -maybe even by focusing on the public money spent on the Beluga's mistress.
The "respect-the-flag-and-get-those-woke-shows-out-of-my-sight-you-official-govt-propaganda-channel!" -Not so much.
Now get back a few years in time, &tell me what politician could have escaped resigning for this deranged beluga's embezzlement of public money on sock-searching mistress.
The answer is none.
Because at the time, the media did not have to be "patriotic" in the holy name of Brexit

So my family house is sold.
Still have to negotiate with my “I never paid a penny but the law says I can get half the money ex“ to hope paying 2/3 of my debts. Even if it goes the best it can goes I’m in for 10 years or more of repayment.
Strong feeling of anti-achieving tonight.
I shouldn’t complain as I survived harassment and murders attempts and am effectively keeping a pedophile from wrecking our children as now a justice-appointed educator is watching us. Also there’s precedent so he has to look nice. Yet somehow it doesn’t feel like achievement.
I’m gonna have to pay the debts of the hell I went through for years -and now that it is sold, despite me liking my new place, I mourn the loss of our family home. Which isn’t enough to fix the burden that was inflicted on me. I’m glad I survived but yearn for other achievements

A thought about the flag everywhere show.
There’s only one time when people feel the need to surround themselves with their country’s flag: When their country is under attack.
But isn’t it kind of ironic when the country attacking your country happens to be... your country?
I mean imagine if another country had claimed 150k British lives. Declared a trade war wrecking 1000s of businesses. Hacked your taxes to give your money to their pals. Moved to make protests illegal. Made people you love illegal overnight.
Would you feel like flying their flag?
The flag everywhere show is a diversion -but not only. It’s also a perversion of all you hold dear. Make it compulsory while reversing what it means is sinister. You should be proud of your flag and what if represents. But only can when it isn’t made to represent the opposite.

And I thought the point of the vaccine was saving lives
When obviously it’s mostly about trolling 🤷‍♀️
I really hope the EU will ignore that pathetic and useless provocation and not enact a ban on Pfizer vaccines set to be exported to the U.K. right when AZ will under deliver Image
It may be a hard sell domestically -but ATST from April the EU will get enough vaccines, so it’s also possible to focus attention on that. Ultimately EU people couldn’t care less about the U.K. (or any other countries for that matter). They just want the nightmare to be over.
So there
If this is a race-to-prove-which-is-best, EU (roughly 6 weeks late compared to the U.K.) could maybe pass the finish line first by screwing the UK
The thing is, it’s not a race
It’s a team effort -well it should be
Again all in it together, no room for “needling“ anybody
