I do not mourn racists/sexists or any royals.

Monarchies everywhere should be abolished, esp one which colonized and pillaged so extensively.

To stop regular broadcasting because a royal has died, during a pandemic in a country where more than 100k have died, is ridiculous
And a forced politeness over the death of a racist, sexist prince is revisionism and hypocrisy. The relatives of the dead prince can mourn him how they want. To force grief and revisionism on everyone else: no

There's a fucking global pandemic that has killed 2.5 million people
For the “this isn’t the time or place” people:

I don’t subscribe to “time and place” aka civility politics.

Or “think of his family”:

My tweets are not depriving the family from grieving. They can grieve any way they want. I’m also guessing they’re not on Twitter right now.
To the people upset about my monarchy tweets and are lecturing me about “politeness” and accusing me of “attention-seeking”: you need to learn about my work. You’re in luck! My book is coming out in Ireland and the UK on 22 April via @TrampPress. Pre-order here 👇🏽

I wrote a chapter in my latest book about the importance of attention for women and here you are thinking you’re shaming me by calling me an “attention seeker!” Of course I want attention. My work is important and my ideas are important and they deserve attention.
The chapter is based on my oped:

Nothing threatens the patriarchy more than a woman unafraid to demand attention. Because the most subversive thing a woman can do is talk about her life as if it matters. google.com/amp/s/www.nbcn…

The hieroglyphic term for makeup artist derives from the root “sesh,” which translates to write/engrave. As I hold the liner brush, I feel like a calligrapher, writing a letter of love to myself. 📷 @rerutled

A letter that connects me to a heritage extending millenia before me: men and women of all social classes were wearing eyeliner in Egypt as early as 6000 BC for adornment and protection, for this life and the life to come. I explain feministgiant.com/p/deliberate-b…
The ancient Egyptian word for “makeup palette” derives from the word meaning “to protect.” They believed Kohl eyeliner protected them vs the harsh sunlight or the Evil Eye; I believe the eyeliner I apply every day protects me vs the harsh days of pandemic and perimenopause. When talking about women on the Capitol riot frontlines, it is imperative that you say WHITE women. Because it is not Black, Indigenous or women of colour who have a "long history...of contributing to far-right terrorism in the United States." h/t @cstephens2

It is not "women" who were on the frontlines of the Capitol riot. It is white women who were.

I have been so fucking bone-tired-exhausted, the stay in bed all day kind of exhaustion. As I explained here: I don't have covid, I have perimenopause.
feministgiant.com/p/essay-fallin…
I have gone weeks with feeling good, no waking up with crushing anxiety, no exhaustion and then these past few days I feel like I'm being pushed through some kind of trial by hormonal fire. I'm telling you all this because we need to say and hear it more.
So if you're perimenopausal and you're in a fuck this shit phase, I want you to know that I know.

I feel like I'm going through the Twelve Tasks of the Menopause or something so that I can finally be free.
