I released a big update to my @RoamResearch course today.

There are now two versions:

"Just the basics" and the full course.

Both include 2.5 hours of brand new content on learning Roam from "Roam in a Day" filmed a couple weeks ago!
Check them out here! effortlessoutput.com
All previous buyers have all the new content. You should have an email about it!
In the next few weeks I'll be adding some other new videos on some of the newer features, like templated pages and Roam JS
Here's a preview of all the new content 👀

Hey everyone, I've been kind of hard on BitClout the last few days.

But I looked into it more and realized it's actually a really incredible opportunity.

Let me explain 👇
BitClout lets you buy a creator's "coin" so you can invest in their future growth.

Just deposit a little Bitcoin and you can buy BitClout, then use that BitClout to buy some of my coin!

What makes it extra cool is that when you buy some of my coin I get more BitClout.

So by promoting BitClout and encouraging you to sign up, I'm getting more of this new crypto asset.

I don't even have to put any money in!

Forget the edit button, Twitter should have a "stop spread" option on tweets.

It's perfect for when that half-baked tweet you sent after a few glasses of wine is getting way more reach than you expected and you want it to stop, but you don't want to delete it.
I've noticed that most tweets that do well go through a sort of cycle:

1. People who follow you and "get you" like and respond
2. People who they reach respond and engage
3. It keeps spreading to people who have no idea who you are and just want to dunk on randos
Something spreading can feel fun in the beginning then quickly become very unfun.

Especially since negative sentiment seems to spread faster than positive sentiment.

The more time I spend outside, the more in-tune I get with the low-grade anxiety from being inside for more than an hour or two at a time.

Gonna just push my desk outside and throw a tarp over it and hope it doesn't get fried by rain.
How did I get this thing in here? Guess I have to take it apart 🤦‍♂️
Flipping around wasn’t an option, and this was faster than taking all the doors off

Two weeks is pretty early to judge these things, but so far there’s no clear uptick in cases since Texas removed its mask mandate 2 weeks ago.

In fact they’re down about 30.7%
The real test will be at 4-6 weeks, but this is still great news.
Okay I checked the national numbers to get a base rate to compare this too and it’s even more surprising: nationally cases are only down 9%

Since moving to Texas I've bought three guns now: two hunting rifles and one handgun.

Myself and most responsible gun owners I've talked to agree that it is way too easy to buy guns, and there are so many reasonable restrictions that could be put in place.

One barrier...
Is that the extreme rhetoric around gun ownership on both sides makes it super easy to mischaracterize the other side's arguments.

Relevant: nateliason.com/blog/schroding…
Again, pretty much all gun owners I talk to are pro reasonable restrictions on gun ownership!

Pretending like anyone who owns a gun is "crazy" for wanting one only alienates reasonable gun owners, especially since there are plenty of legitimately good reasons to own a gun.

I think my new favorite intellectual demographic is crypto prepper bro, people who are into:

- crypto
- privacy
- hunting
- cooking
- homesteading
- the creator economy

what else fits in that bucket?
Part of why I think it's interesting is it blends a variety of traditionally liberal and traditionally conservative values into this new techno traditionalist lifestyle, I suspect it'll grow over the next decade.
- psychedelics
- fitness
- FIRE
- farm to table
- broad spiritualism but non-monotheism
- medical freedom
