🧵 1/A READING LIST: Understanding #Jan6 and the info operations that contributed to it requires going beyond the chatter on Twitter and Reddit and actually digging into history. Here is a list of books that I think are essential. Your suggestions are welcome also!
2/I recommend Shadow Network by @anelsona as a baseline set of knowledge to understand the Council for National Policy, and where it came from. Updated edition available in paperback next month, also. goodreads.com/en/book/show/4…
3/Now let's go back in time... Check out Seven Days (1962) in May by Fletcher Knebel and Charles W. Bailey II, which outlines fears that anti-communist zealots in the military + intel world may overthrow the US government. goodreads.com/book/show/1153…
4/"The Plot to Seize the White House" (1973) by Jules Archer describes the true story behind the 1934 "Business Plot" where anti-New Deal gold bugs plotted to depose (or kill) Franklin Roosevelt. goodreads.com/book/show/2531…
5/"Inside the League" (1986) by Scott and Jon Lee Anderson is still today the definitive guide to the formation and machinations of the World Anti-Communist League and its interface with the John Birch Society + Moon Cult, etc. amazon.com/Inside-League-…
6/"Old Nazis, the New Right, and the Republican Party" (1991) by Russ Bellant is a compact monograph that brings together the European Anti-Bolshevik networks with their Asian counterparts in Taiwan, Korea, etc., focusing on Singlaub et al. amazon.com/Old-Nazis-Righ…
7/"The Sovereign Individual" (1997) by William Rees-Mogg (UK far rightist) and James Dale Davidson of Agora Publishing predicts the rise of "digital cash" and advocates for individual rule and a breakdown of nation-states. goodreads.com/book/show/8225…
8/"The Fourth Turning" (1997) by William Strauss + Neil Howe is Steve Bannon's personal blueprint for how to understand historical cycles. Widely discredited as "history" it nonetheless offers insights into popular theories of societal change. goodreads.com/book/show/6700…
9/"Gold Warriors" (2003) by Sterling and Peggy Seagrave tells the story of the efforts to recover Yamashita's gold after WW II. Connecting Singlaub to the Philippines, this storyline comes up repeatedly in multiple cold war anti-communist networks. goodreads.com/book/show/2492…
10/"The Handbook of 5GW" (2010) by Daniel H. Abbott is a compact guide for understanding the mechanics of networked warfare, information operations, memetics, and the like. Pull back the curtain on the info soup and see what's really going on. goodreads.com/book/show/1905…
11/"Interlock" (2015) by Patricia Goldstone about the research, art, and ultimate death of Mark Lombardi is a fascinating look at his documentation of banking, intelligence, and CIA networks. Meticulously researched and a very accessible read. goodreads.com/book/show/2479…
12/"Dark Money" (2017) by @JaneMayerNYer is her seminal work describing the complex network of dark money behind Trump and other parts of the right. Good background on Charles + David Koch and connection to "I AM" cult. goodreads.com/book/show/2783…
13/"Democracy in Chains" (2018) by Nancy MacLean details the strategy the Koch Brothers devised with economist James Buchanan to introduce "interrelated plays" aimed to achieve goals incrementally and covertly. goodreads.com/book/show/3001…
14/"Invoking the Beyond" (2021) by Paul and Phillip Collins is new to me, but in its 1,000 pages they connect the military intelligence world with many of the mystical phenomena that reoccur in that world, and explore this in deep detail. amazon.com/Invoking-Beyon…
15/"Secret Warriors" (1988) by Steven Emerson describes how the Pentagon "went rogue" by ramping up its own "mini-CIA" operations in the early 80's in response to restrictions from Congress. Covers Iran-Contra and several related efforts. amazon.com/Secret-Warrior…
16/"The World of the John Birch Society" (2014) by D. Molloy is a detailed look at the origins and early history of the JBS from the years 1958-1968 in particular. A complex treatment of a topic often oversimplified. amazon.com/World-John-Bir…
17/The failure by researchers and media to connect with history has impeded popular understanding our current moment. Studying these titles as well as my essay series can help.
18/One thing that's also clear is that the frequent appearance of para-spiritual and cult-like structures in the study of the intelligence world suggests that it is a go-to technology for manipulation of societies. And it's not because it's "real" per se, it's because it works.
19/It is, in effect, the weaponization of imagination and social capital, and a way to obtain leverage on the whole of society by getting outside of its frames and manipulating it at scale. The fact that it seems "kooky" to outsiders masks its actual effects and functionality.
20/This looks like a good addition to this list in that it's historical (not a reaction to the moment) and focuses specifically on this specific network of characters. There are plenty of good books to read but a focus on the roots is quite useful. goodreads.com/book/show/1750…
21/I haven't read this yet, but knowing of its existence is interesting. Coe served with the same OSS clique as John Birch, Singlaub, et al in China and may have weaponized the 2012 Mayan narrative in service of CIA interests (per "Invoking the Beyond"). amazon.com/Breaking-Maya-…

🧵 1/THE FINANCIAL ATTACK: This is a work in progress, intended to elicit additional information. We have seen many indications that the CNP/Koch network is staging a series of plays designed to undermine the financial system and bolster non-state cryptocurrencies.
2/This is an overt statement that they are pushing in this direction. They literally describe here a "distributed future," by which they mean "a world without central banks" (and central bankers) and based on non-state cryptocurrency. Is this the future we want? We must discuss.
3/Old-time CNP/Western Goals/Birch Society thought-leader G. Edward Griffin is saying the same thing. He calls out central banks and expresses clear preference for metals (silver, gold) and non-state cryptocurrencies in this video.
1/Today, I will be joining as a guest on "The Farm" podcast. In preparation, I have been listening to their excellent series on the World Anti-Communist League. These long, deep dives explore the real history that informs the present moment. I've linked to each episode below.

This video of Western Goals’ OG G. Edward Griffin explaining his mindset around opposition to central banks and preference for silver and non-state crypto is at the heart of what’s going on right now.
While the world argues about Q (the last phase of this op) the next phase is underway and visible in plain sight. This is what this is all about; get ahead of it instead of reacting to it.
Here is the Koch Network telling the world what they are doing. “But Ron Watkins....” 🙄 Put away the computers and phones for a minute and crack open some world history. This is what they are doing and it’s quite obvious.
🧵 1/The biggest sleight of hand pulled by “Q” was to imply the existence of a top-down hierarchy when, in fact, it was an emergent networked insurgency.
Washington and the media think in terms of org charts. Instead this was a supple, shape-shifting effort.
2/So everyone was asking “who is Q” when the better question was “what is this network and how does it work?” Flynn and the other military folks who became involved in this had experience with this kind of insurgency. They knew they could get networks to do things.
3/One might want to see a certain message get out to a network; tell some mullahs, and maybe that happens. Maybe your work gets done for you, through the power of suggestion. Maybe minor celebrities emerge who each are pulling in the same direction.
I didn’t know what to expect from the @HBO film on Q and #Jan6 by @CullenHoback. But he managed to get at the network, and followed the facts. It comports with my own work on this subject, which provides additional context without contradiction.
And I am also happy to report that both the @Vice and @HBO documentaries covering these subjects are in alignment with this program we did in October, which I believed would be the first broad description of this network. That turned out to be correct.
What so many have failed to see is the complex and emergent nature of this networked insurgency. I am pleased reality is asserting itself, but there is so much more we need to do to tell this story. We need to inoculate the population so this doesn’t happen again.
Today I heard Randal Quarles of the US Financial Stability Board defend the fact that the US is not yet pursuing a sovereign-backed digital currency, saying he doesn’t see what role it can fill.
In my opinion the role it needs to fulfill is as competition against wild variants, and with those being created by China and the Eurozone. If this is not addressed, the entire financial sector will be targeted for manipulation with the spoils going to wild crypto.
A lot of people will be hurt if that happens. And they explicitly cited the risk to the financial sector. But I think they underestimate it. There are explicit campaigns to manipulate stocks, crypto, and fiat currency using social media.
