Ramadan Mubarak.

Ramadan ❤:
Ramadan marks the Ninth Month of Islamic/Lunar calender.

Ramadan is the month of fasting, abstinence and reflection.
Fasting during the holy month of Ramadan is more than simply avoiding food.
Fasting in Ramadan is the practice of discipline and the abstaining of temptations and bad habits.
From sunrise to sunset, able Muslims are asked to shun food and drink (including water), avoid sexual activities, smoking and intoxication and any sort of impure thoughts.
The Month of Ramadan is an incredibly auspicious month in which the initial verses of the Holy Quran were bestowed upon Prophet Muhammad ﷺ as a guidance for all mankind.
This happened during the final 10 nights of this month,which is why Laylat-ul-Qadr holds so much significance
Ramadan can fall in different seasons year to year, thus the total time in fasting can change.
As the Islamic year is based on the lunar calendar, it rotates by around 11 days each year
There are two named meals when fasting, they are "Suhoor", which is the morning meal and is to be eaten before the sun rises and "Iftar", which is the evening meal and may only be consumed at or after sunset. The daily fast is traditionally opened and closed with dates
Certain individuals may be excused from fasting subject to their circumstances - such as those who are ill, expecting a child, are underage, and so on. There are also certain exclusions for those who are travelling during the fasting day too.
One of the key principles of this month is to attain taqwa i.e closeness to Allah and to instil fear of Allah.
The month of Ramadan itself holds countless rewards for those who seek repentance, practice, and give to charity.
Many events occurred in the month of Ramadan.
Few of them are:
1. Qur'an was revealed.
2. Battle of Badr was fought and Muslims won it.
3. Makkah was conquered (Fath-Makkah)
Hadiths about Ramadan:

Abu Hurayrah R.A reported that the Prophet ﷺ said,

Whoever observes fasts during the month of Ramadan out of sincere faith, and hoping to attain Allah’s rewards, then all his past sins will be forgiven. (Bukhari and Muslim)
Abu Hurayrah R.A reported that the Prophet ﷺ said:

Fasting is a shield; so when one of you is fasting he should neither indulge in obscene language nor should he raise his voice in anger.
If someone attacks him or insults him, let him say: “I am fasting!” (Muslim)
The gates of Mercy are opened in Ramadan.

Abu Huraira R.A reported Allah's Messenger ﷺ as saying:

When there comes the month of Ramadan, the gates of mercy are opened, and the gates of Hell are locked and the devils are chained. (Muslim - 1079a)
Gates of Heaven are opened in Ramadan.

Abu Hurairah R.A reported:
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “When the month of Ramadan begins, the gates of the heaven are opened, the gates of Hellfire are closed, and the devils are chained.”

Bukhārī 1899.
Eat Suhūr before the dawn.
Narrated Anas bin Malik:

The Prophet ﷺ said, "Take Suhur as there is a blessing in it." - (Bukhari 1923)
Avoid lying and evil actions.

Narrated Abu Hurairah R.A :

The Prophet ﷺ said, "Whoever does not give up forged speech and evil actions, Allah is not in need of his leaving his food and drink (ie Allah will not accept his fasting.)" - (Bukhari: 1903)
Hasten to break the fast.
Narrated Sahl bin Sa`d R.A:

Allah's Messenger ﷺ said, "The people will remain on the right path as long as they hasten the breaking of the fast." - (Sahih Bukhari: 1957)
Break the fast with Dates and Water.
Prophet ﷺ said: “When any one of you breaks his fast, let him break his fast with dates for that is a blessing; if there are no dates then with water, for that is a means of purification.” (Tirmidhi- 695).
Provide food to people to break their fast.
Prophet ﷺ said: "Whoever provides the food for a fasting person to break his fast with, then for him is the same reward as his (the fasting person's), without anything being diminished from the reward of the fasting person." -Tirmidhi
Increase in giving charity.

Narrated by Ibn Abbas R.A:
Prophet ﷺ was the most generous of people, and he was most generous during Ramadan - (Bukhari)
Spend the nights in worship.
Aisha R.A narrates about Prophet Muhammad ﷺ :
“With the start of the last 10 days of Ramadan, the Prophet ﷺ used to tighten His waist belt (i.e. work harder) and used to pray all the night,& used to keep his family awake for the prayers.” (Bukhari)
Increase engagement with the Qur'an.

The Prophet ﷺ was the most generous person, and he used to become more so particularly in the month of Ramadan because Jibrael A.S used to meet him every night of the month of Ramadan. Prophet ﷺ used to recite the Qur'an for Jibrael A.S.
All Perfect praise is for Allah.
May Allah forgive us all and grant Knowledge, Success, Satisfaction, contentment to all of us - the East, the West, the North and the south.
Aamen.
Please keep me in your duas in the holy month of Ramadan.

@Hadithoftheday Devils (Satan).

Gates of Paradise (heaven).
Abu Hurairah R.A reported:
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “When the month of Ramadan begins, the gates of the heaven are opened, the gates of Hellfire are closed, and the devils are chained.”

(Bukhārī , Muslim)
@Hadithoftheday Chaining the devils means that Allah makes it easier in this month for people to control their behavior in the wake of all temptations, physical, social and spiritual. +
@Hadithoftheday Thus an individual would ensure that he or she doesn't commit any act that would either defy the divine mercy of Allah.
Thus each believing person has to have personal battle with one's own ego, the biggest satanic whisper that sits in the each one of us

@Hadithoftheday Gates of Paradise (heaven).
Abu Hurairah R.A reported:
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “When the month of Ramadan begins, the gates of the heaven are opened, the gates of Hellfire are closed, and the devils are chained.”

(Bukhārī, Muslim)
@Hadithoftheday One of the bounties that Allah has bestowed upon this ummah is that He opens all the gates of Paradise during the month of Ramadaan, not just one gate.
What an honour for Muslims.
@Hadithoftheday There is also a gate in paradise called as "Rayaan" through which only the fasting person can enter
Narrated Sahl ibn Sa’d R.A:
The Prophet ﷺ said: “In Paradise there are eight gates, among which is a gate called al-Rayyaan, which none will enter but those who fast.”(Bukhaari)

@Hadithoftheday Battle of Badr.
Battle of Badr took place in 17th of Ramadan, two years after Prophet Muhammad ﷺ migrated to Madina.
Only 313 Muslims fought in Badr while disbelievers were 950-1000 in number.
14 companions were martyred and over 70 disbelievers were killed in battle of badr
@Hadithoftheday Angels helped the Muslims to achieve victory over disbelievers.
Allah says in Qur'an:
Indeed Allah assisted you at Badr when you were weak, so be careful (to your duty) to Allah so that you may be of the thankful ones. (3:123)
@Hadithoftheday In the thick of the battle, the Prophet ﷺ prayed to Allah, And Allah sent Angels to help Muslims in Badr.
In Surat Al-Anfal Allah says:
“When you asked for help from your Lord, He answered you. Indeed I will aid you with a thousand of the angels in rows behind rows.” (Quran,8:9)

@Hadithoftheday True
Conquest of Makkah took place in 8th year of Hijrah (migration of Muslims from Makkah to Madina) during the month of Ramadan
The conquest of Makkah is the day of the greatest conquest.
It is the day when Muslims entered Makkah from all corners in the 8th year of Hijrah
@Hadithoftheday Conquest of Makkah was the greatest events in the history of Islam.
Many non Muslims (before conquest of Makkah) embraced Islam at the time of conquest of Makkah.
Hind bint utbah, Abu Sufyan, Ikrima bin Abu jahl, etc
@Hadithoftheday In Ramadan 8 AH, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ alongwith his 10,000 companions, which was the largest Muslim force ever assembled as of that time, went on their journey to Makkah.
Once the Muslims had achieved Makkah, the pioneers of Quraysh surrendered.

@Hadithoftheday Sighting of New Moon.

Allah says in Qur'an:
“So whoever of you sights (the crescent on the first night of) the month (of Ramadan), he must observe Sawm (fasts) that month”

[al-Baqarah 2:185]
@Hadithoftheday Allah says in Qur'an:
“They ask you (O Muhammad) about the new moons. Say: These are signs to mark fixed periods of time for mankind and for the pilgrimage”

[al-Baqarah 2:189]
@Hadithoftheday It is obligatory to fast when the sighting of the moon is confirmed, even if it is seen by only one trustworthy Muslim.
Ibn Umar said: “The people went out to sight the new moon and I told the Messenger of Allah ﷺ that I had seen it, so he fasted and told the people to fast.”

Farewell Sermon of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ :
Prophet Muhammad ﷺ's final sermon was delivered during the Hajj of the year 632 C.E - the ninth day of Dhul Hijjah, the 12th month of the lunar year, at Arafat.
Prophet Muhammad ﷺ undertook his farewell pilgrimage in the year 10 A.H.
His farewell pilgrimage to Makkah is one of the most significant historical events, for it was the first and last pilgrimage made by Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
