Today @KristinWardle and I celebrate our 30th Anniversary. April 12 is our anniversary because it was the only week that worked with our academic calendars in 1991 as we both were racing to try to get done with school, while attending different universities
One was on semesters the other on quarters. She was done with her semester and had more time off before her summer term, so we took a few days, got married, and then threw ourselves back into school and work.
The result of that, though was regular anniversary celebrations during Law School impacted by school and finals.
Also, I had no awareness of the fact that April 12, 1991 was my Grandfather’s 79th Birthday, so our first anniversary was spent in a van with my family traveling to his 80th birthday party.
This year, our youngest’s SAT schedule and my work schedule and COVID conspired to keep us from doing anything too epic and awesome but a quick Pacific NW road trip (although Old Hwy 95 and all the switchbacks at Whitebird is pretty epic and awesome).
Kristin has been the most kind, most patient, most supportive spouse I could have ever hoped to have. She has let me be me and is the reason that I have been able to accomplish a lot of really cool things because she keeps everything under control and moving forward.
We have tried to see much of the world together and will continue to do so in the future, hopefully.
This is the first post that I have made since July, but it is that important. Raul Labrador and his minions don’t really value life, don’t really respect personal autonomy, don’t really believe in freedom. They love authoritarianism. #housing #homelessness
Last week, Idaho and Montana filed an amicus brief in support of the City of Grants Pass request for certiorari to SCOTUS seeking to reverse the 9th Circuit’s prior decision in Martin v. City of Boise and recent adverse ruling against Grants Pass.
Here is a link to the brief itself. I would be embarrassed to attach my name to this if I was in any State Attorney General’s office. It is hyperbolic, it misrepresents and misstates the law. ag.idaho.gov/content/upload…
I had hoped that some were right and that Winder’s bills SB1187 and SB1188 were just a gambit to give the RW something they wanted and to get to Sine Die. I am wrong. /1 #idleg#1stAmendment
After thinking about SB1187 and SB1188 and rereading them and after evaluating them, are far worse than I had initially thought. /2 #idleg
