SHAURI MOYO POLICE STATION

A young man called Dennis Murigi (born 1998) rents a single room somewhere in Nairobi Eastlands. Months later he vacates the room and goes back to his parents' home. He leaves the key with a friend.
The friend steals a T-shirts printing machines and a lap top somewhere in Gikomba and hides them in the room without the knowledge of Dennis.

@NPSOfficial_KE trace the items in the room. Dennis is arrested. Meanwhile the real thief escapes.
Dennis is locked up at Shauri Moyo Police Station. That was Friday last week. He spends weekend and yesterday in custody.
The complaint is called at the station. He identifies the items. Everything has been recovered. He sympathizes with Dennis and his parents who are poverty striken. He gladly says since he has recovered his property he doesn't want to press any charges.
But @NPSOfficial_KE have a different idea. They want something to eat for the efforts & to close the transaction. It always happens that way in Kenya.

No one gives the "something". The complainant won't & the parents have nothing. So a decision is made Dennis has to be charged.
Today he is escorted to BuruBuru police station where he has to appear before a court virtually. He is charged with breaking and stealing from the complaint 's house. The goods stolen are worth 72k.
Dennis is granted 30k cash bail. His parents can't even raise half of that. In fact for them to move from shauri moyo to BuruBuru, the complaint himself paid their fare. The complaint was going to withdraw the case but he was not even allowed to address the court.
Dennis is told he can't be taken to Industrial Area remand due to Covid. He is taken back to Shauri Moyo Police where is spending the time. The next mention of the case is April 29.
This is a young innocent boy who has not stolen anything. He doesn't even know what was stolen. And the complainant is willing to withdraw the case. He is not interested in it. Even paying fare for Dennis parents to go to court.
But someone somewhere will not allow that cause of justice because 5K chai has not been given out. Our courts have been preaching day and night about settling such cases out of court.
Now the printing machine and lap top must remain at the @NPSOfficial_KE station as exhibits even if for one year. Everyone loses.
But some @NPSOfficial_KE officers are deaf. And since they can't do anything else, peleka yeye kotini. That's all they know. And we except Dennis 23, to grow up loving his country and his government.

SICKNESS.
Great news update!!!

@citizentvkenya took up the matter of Dennis Murigi. They interviewed family went to the police station. Now the guy has been released. Case dropped. Asante sana @JAgeyo and team!

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE?

Thread the ongoing #SGBV & rape By @jacobaliet

There are several snakes of all sizes that are harmless to humans. In fact, they can be safely kept as pets and as a control for rodents....
However, there are also several venomous snakes and constrictors that are dangerous to humans.

So, what have humans done to deal with this situation?
Human beings have taught their kids, and the numbnuts among them, that snakes are dangerous and they should stay the hell away from snakes.

This has worked fairly well for humans. The flipside of it is that humans have ended up killing snakes needlessly.

My Wife’s Salary Was a Mystery Until I discovered How Much She’s Truly Worth

In 2016 she told me her salary was GHC950. And then two years later, when she got promoted, I asked about her salary and she said, “Oh these people, don’t mind them.
They added only Ghc350 to my old salary. Because of her meagre salary, I’ve taken up so many responsibilities in the house without complaint. I pay for utilities and pay for food. I pay the fees of our two kids, clothe them, and take care of their medical bills.
When my wife sends me a grocery list, she adds sanitary pads. She buys dresses and clothes, comes to show them to me, and asks me to pay for them. She started talking about a car when our second child came in. Things weren’t good on my side so I asked her to give me some time.

Good afternoon class!

Here is a thread of a post I did on October 12 2017

The colonialists always appointed Africans with flawed character to positions that had influence.

People who had skeletons in the closet or people ready to betray their communities and could even kill their own mothers. Chiefs, DOs, Legislative Council members, presidents and PMs who took over at "independence".

#TekelezaKatiba
In Uthamakistan we call these people "Ngaati (home guards) or "kamatimu ("they or spears" colonial police)". In the rest of Kenya they're known as collaborators or sellouts.

These Unprecedented Times Call for Business Unusual!

These are unprecedented times. Never in our recent history, have we not had an opposition party or group to check the excesses of the Executive. @KLM_VUMA

#KongamanoLaMageuzi #PoliticalEducationKE #FagiaWote
Even during the dark days of the single-party rule of the Moi dictatorship, voices of dissent still existed, despite the constant danger of imprisonment, torture and assassination.

#KongamanoLaMageuzi #PoliticalEducationKE #FagiaWote
This is the spirit that led us to fight to end the single-party rule. It is the spirit that led us to fight for constitutional reforms and the spirit that guided our fight for electoral justice in 2007, 2013 and 2017 at huge costs.

This video was shot in 2009 shortly after the #GoK forcefully evicted Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) from the 2007/2008 Post Election Violence (PEV) from the main camps and hid them in satellite camps away from local and international media glare.
It was produced by journalists Gatũ wa Mbaria and John Njerũ with the aim of letting Kenyans know the plight of the desperate people and possibly help them.

#PoliticalEducationKE
It inspired a major initiative that brought together famous musicians, comedians and marathoners to try and help. But once again, the govt infiltrated and destroyed the initiative.
