Just had an ND call NTs sociopathic in my tiktok comments bc they mostly experience their feelings in their mind and not their body and i went the fuck off bc NO. We are NOT gonna be doing that, too. What is so complicated about not dehumanizing people based on their neurotype

Be mad at neurotypicals, sure. Call them weird. It's OK to like your brain better. They certainly do. But engaging in a hierarchy of humanity based on biology is the cause of basically all evil and we need to be tearing down that entire idea, not getting in on it

I see this pretty often and I wonder where people think it’s going to go. “We are not biologically inferior, you’re biologically inferior!” is not going to go well for us and cannot lead anywhere good for anyone at all ever

I know hearing about how another neurotype thinks sounds so unbelievable that it can't be true, but that's how they feel when we tell them how our brains work. That's what they're doing to us. You really can't see how ridiculous it is to do it yourself?

And yes, neurotypicals usually experience their feelings in their mind unless it's an especially strong feeling like intense nervousness or deep grief. There's nothing wrong with or weird about that, it's just different from how autistic people experience our feelings

Instead of bothering me with how that feels wrong to you, go ask autistic and neurotypical people to describe the experience of their feelings to you and you will see that I am correct, because that's how I know this shit. I actually ask people about their own minds & don’t judge

It's very sad but one way I know for sure that no neurotype is superior is because when presented with details of how other people think, people from any neurotype will jump straight to eugenics thinking. I didn't think that would be true, but I've witnessed it too many times.

And yeah we don't have the power and that does make the dynamics different, but I'm talking abstract-reality-level inferiority and superiority here. If autistic people had always been in power, some of us would’ve invented eugenics. We're not immune from that kind of thinking

We all need to rid ourselves of the knee-jerk reaction upon hearing about how some people's brains work to judge that as biologically inferior. “sociopathic” clearly connotes that. This is not the same thing as criticizing or making fun of neurotypicals, or even hating them.

“some brains are inherently better than other brains” is an idea that needs to die. How do we expect to rid society of an idea we haven't rid ourselves of?
