I've had health insurance most of my adult life and still I postpone/avoid care as long as possible because of cost/deductibles. With all the police brutality and mass shootings I can't help but reflect how desperate and fearful people are. I know many people 50, 60+ working
FT jobs because they cannot afford medical care on social security. Parents raising their children with no help, dependant on the public school systems for childcare etc. It's not their fault, this is the system. I was a single mother for a long time, I worked overnight and
had to bring my kids to work with me sometimes. I wasn't supposed to, honestly I could have lost my job for it but I had no other option. Some kids, they sell drugs or steal because they have no other option, they don't know how to survive any other way. I feel this mentality
of blame and justification for death is insane. I was absolutely horrified to learn about people who idolize George Zimmerman, the man who killed Trayvon Martin. Completely broken to hear that people make fun of that young man's death. What kind of parody is this? Where adults
mock the death of innocent adolescents? There is no excuse for that! It is sick and disgusting to look at a dead child and do the mental gymnastics of saying to yourself, they deserved to die. So many people may find themselves thinking this way, don't. It helps none of us.
After 911, I recall vividly the Islamophobia, bigotry and hatred prevalent in society. I also remember a change of heart where there were those who refused to behave that way. Yet 20 years later we are talking about ending this decades long war and do I believe our govmnt will
truly aim to make itself and us by proxy a peaceful nation? Not at all. I've only ever seen this decline of intelligence and embrace for hostility. It's grotesque. I never anticipated an interest in politics when I was younger. Never. I find myself in this predicament solely out
of a great desire to help. I have no ambitions for fame or fortune which would make me incredibly dull to some. I don't care.. I have a life I've worked hard for and it isn't much to some people's standards but in my humble opinion, folks don't have good standards/expectations.
The idea is, "not my problem.. oh well, I didn't do such and such. It has nothing to do with me". That's selfish and cowardly. I realize this now. You don't have to make the cognizant decision to embrace hostility and oppression. That's not natural for us, we're supposed to work
together. It's not as profitable of course for the likes of certain sec of defense for instance but that is a foolishness I don't feel obligated to aid or participate. They don't ask us how we feel about spending our money on murder, theft and violence. Or if we feel comfortable
denying certain people unalienable rights. Taking advantage of a privelege not earned but found? No they don't. So what are they doing? Narrating a story where you get to feel good about yourself, you get to have your brunch while your nation spends billions of dollars on
an arrogant power struggle with no end in sight? That's the problem with foolish, prideful men with centuries of power. They need to make amends for this disaster they like to call "progress". I'm looking at you George W.. you used that term so goddamn much I can't hear
the word in my head not in your voice thanks very much. Still I don't hate the man, I have no energy for that. I'm trying to help life not take it. So as I finish this long thread let me make something very clear to all of you. We do not have to help these bastards in their
games for progress. We have so much greater work to do than aid these fools. It is within our reach to claim our power back from those who only seek to abuse it. Let's stop helping them and help ourselves instead. Us, all of us who try to survive..who get back up no matter how
many times they try to silence, scare, lie, harm, deny or oppress us. I refuse to be silent on these matters of life. We can change all of this, reclaim our rights and may risk great harm in the process. I personally feel, it is worth the fight.
