Take it to God in prayer

‘Cast your burden on the Lord [releasing the weight of it] and He will sustain you.’

Psalm 55:22 AMPC
1. After preaching about taking our worries to God in prayer, a lady approached the great preacher G. Campbell Morgan & said, ‘I don’t bother God with little things; I only take the big ones to Him.’ Morgan replied, ‘My dear lady, everything we take to God is little.’ Bible says,
2.. ‘Cast your burden on the Lord [releasing the weight of it] & He'll sustain you.’ God knows you’re not built to carry the weight of worry, so He invites you to give it to Him today. Anything that’s big enough to be a source of anxiety shd be turned into a prayer. Peter writes:
3...‘Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully’ (1 Peter 5:7). Note the word ‘casting’. That’s the opposite of ‘carrying’! The moment you...
4....recognise that a worry is beginning to weigh you down, ‘cast’ it on the Lord, knowing ‘He cares for you affectionately & cares about you watchfully.’ Now if He was a distant God who didn’t care about you, you'ld have reason to worry. Or if He was a weak God who couldn't do..
5...anything about it, you would have reason to worry. The truth is, it’s as you give your worries to God that you discover how big He really is. The songwriter Joseph Scriven put it this way: ‘Oh, what peace we often forfeit, oh, what needless pain we bear, all because we do not
6...carry everything to God in prayer.’

Governor's for years have been using the FG as cover for their failure to perform. Many have done little in terms of IGR & infrastructure. Using the hashtag #StateOfStates, some of us have tried for years to educate people with data that'll help them ask their Governors questions
We have tried to educate people that Nigeria does not have a Federal Economy but a National Economy consisting of the Federal, State and LG. That our budget of income and expenditure should not be analysed solely on the basis of Federal Budget but also the State and the LG budget
That the budget for education, health & infrastructure of Nigeria is not that of the FG but the budget for education, health & infrastructure of the FG, State & LG. That the budget for revenue for Nigeria is not only that of the FG, but include that allocated to States, LG & IGR.

Your identity determines your inheritance

‘We are…heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ.’

1. When our favourite sports team wins, we say, ‘We won!’ What do you mean ‘we’? You weren’t on the field. You didn’t get tackled. You didn’t throw or kick the ball. You didn’t even score a single goal. What do you mean ‘we’ won? You mean that because the team you support and...
2...identify with won, you won too. There’s an important spiritual truth here for you as the redeemed child of God. When Jesus died, you died with Him. When Jesus arose, you arose with Him to ‘walk in newness of life’ (Romans 6:4). The difference between you and the team that won

‘New things I declare; before they spring forth I tell you of them.’
Isaiah 42:9 NKJV
1. The same people who declared Jephthah ‘persona non grata’ were the same ones who turned to him for help when they were threatened by a powerful enemy. So here’s lesson one: other people don’t determine your future, God does! The Israelites were living in slavery when God made
2...them this promise: ‘“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good & not for evil, to give you a future and a hope”’ (Jeremiah 29:11). God’s plan for you will prevail over every other plan. Here’s lesson two: a unity walk requires unity talk.

It is no longer news that headline inflation in Nigeria increased from 17.33% in February to 18.17% in March. I know many are feeling very concerned right now (we should be tbh) but relax, it is not without remedy. Fix the food crisis and the inflation rate will come down.
I would have been more concerned if the rise in inflation is linked more to imported inflation than local food prices. That is obviously not the case even with imported food index in the CPI, meaning it's within our control to do the necessary to stem the tide of rising inflation
That said, I have another concern, one that I believe @nigerianstat should be looking at. It has to do with our CPI weight. At the moment, the CPI basket in Nigeria is weighted based on a 2009 revision of the 2003/2004 National Standard of Living Survey. i.e. 2009 is the base yr.

We are running a democracy and system of governance we cannot afford. A system that is way too expensive for our income to cover. We need to start having the hard conversations to restructure along the lines of governance we can afford otherwise, we will sink deeper into debt.
This is not an easy conversation to have because it means, we may need to craft a new constitution or devolve power from the center to regions or close some State govts & Parliaments. It means some people in govt agencies may have to lose their jobs so we can cut govt overheads.
Without going into too much specifics, according to @BudgITng non-debt recurrent expenditure for Half Year 2020 was 32% higher than Half Year Revenue. When you add debt servicing, total recurrent exp spikes to 126% above revenue. If we consider that non-debt recurrent expenditure

‘Prove by the way you live that you have…turned to God.’
Matthew 3:8 NLT
1. When Israel’s leaders turned to Jephthah for help, they were in distress & wanted to ‘use’ him. So Jephthah said, in essence, ‘Let’s get an understanding of the type of relationship we’re going to have.’ At that point he negotiated with them & ended up in a top leadership spot
2. When your trust has been violated, you need to forgive. By doing so, u set yourself free. But you must exercise wisdom in how to move forward. God doesn’t expect u to put yourself in a position to be hurt again. Perhaps you’ve heard the story of the guy who went to the doctor
