🔥How I started multiple profitable businesses with less than $50

A list of 30 resources I used to build all my products so you can do the same!

THREAD👇
1/ Landing page

- All my landing pages are made with @carrd. It's super easy to use and the default designs are WAY better than everything I can do myself!

Their PRO plan is ridiculously cheap $19/YEAR!

Bonus point: It's made by an IndieHacker → @ajlkn
2/ Database

- For all data storage I use @airtable.

The free plan is enough for most use cases. It comes with Unlimited bases and 1,200 records per base, more than enough to test a product.

No more SQL, just a nice UI (#nocode 😍)

Bonus: Their API is super handy!
3/ Payment

I use several payment processors for my project.

They're all free with a certain amount of fees on your revenue.

My top 3:
- @gumroad
- @stripe
- @FlurlyApp (made by an IndieHacker@TheBuilderJR)

(Gumroad had a paid plan $10/m for cheaper fees and extra features)
4/ Online Chat

For online chat, I'm a big fan of @crisp_im (for more than 5 years now).

The Free plan is enough for all my products and it comes with all the features I need.

Bonus point: It's made by an IndieHacker → @baptistejamin
5/ Design

- @canva: Use it for almost all my visuals and logos. It's free, it comes with tons of examples. Highly recommend it for an MVP

- @figma: If you need to create some mockups, it's the perfect tool!
6/ Apps hosting

All the small scripts, standalone pages, and all my blogs are hosted with @Netlify. It's free and blazing fast!

When I need to host some app I go with @heroku. For $6/m you got a basic server, a database, and a continuous integration!
7/ Automation

@zapier is my go-to for automation.
Their free plan is pretty limited and their pro plans are super expensive.
Most of the time, the free plan is enough for me (I also use Airtable automation)

If not, have a look at @integromat of @n8n_io
8/ Tracking

Of course, you can use @googleanalytics. It's one of the most complete tools and incredibly free!

If you want something more privacy-focused have a look at @PlausibleHQ or @usefathom

They're both made by #indiehackers and totally worth their price!
👀If you need to see what your users do on your website, have a look at @hotjar or @fullstory.

They both have a free plan and comes with incredible features!
9 / Mailing

I always @Mailchimp for all my newsletter and audience management. It's free until you reach 2000 contacts, which is more than enough to start!

For my transactional emails, I'm using @mailjet. Nothing super fancy but it just works and it's free.
10/ Naming and domain name

When I look for a new name I use
- @namemesh
- namelix.com
- @namechk

All my domain names are registered with OVH. It comes with a free plan where I have a free email address + small hosting!

Plus I love how @olesovhcom is growing it! 🚀
11 / Notes, documentation, wiki

All my documentation, notes are made with @notion.
I love this tool - and since they removed the block limit the free plan is awesome!

If I need to make some of these pages public I'd go with @potion_so!
12/ Forms and feedback

Most of my forms are made with @airtable. It's integrated into the tool I already use and with all the features I need.

I sometimes use @typeform as well (the design is better)

I need to test @TallyForms, they just added an Airtable integration!
🎁BONUS/ Product-market-fit engine🎁

Talking about feedback, have a look at how @Superhuman build his PMF engine with @coda_hq.

This can be useful to grow your product 😉

10 most underrated pieces of advice for founders

[THREAD] 👇
1/ Focus on distribution

Building a product is great, having a plan to sell it is what really makes the difference.

Think about how you'll distribute BEFORE doing anything else!

2/ Learn when to quit or pivot.

When things are super hard and you feel totally overwhelmed, it's time to take a step back and consider making big changes.

It's ok to fail, it's ok to be wrong. Just move on!

Today's #MyTwitterAnniversary

I joined Twitter 13 yrs ago because I wanted to build a (french) audience about Second life (!)

It worked, I've been one of the few 🇫🇷consultant that made a living from it!

And then, I stopped sharing stuff...
I switched to web development, and joined several companies. My need to be known wasn't a priority anymore.

But that was a BIG mistake. My twitter account just died silently 😑

Please, don't so that. Your boss won't help you find your next job!
Last September I decided to go full indie and I restarted twitter "from scratch", with 1300 "zombies" followers 😁

And it worked! I grew this account from 1300 to 2700 in a few months and made tons of new friends!
