So you pretime, translate, edit, discuss the edits, translation check, discuss the edits again.
Typesetting starts. Signs and on-screen text are translated, while continuity checks (keep a style guide) and call-backs are double checked. Then discuss the continuity checks.

While typesetting is taking place, you refine the timing. Check for errors, overlaps, flashing subtitles. Avoid collisions, trim lines to fit under 3 lines of height. All while keeping character per second in mind and, again, discussing the edits (you'll be making changes)
Then QC for typos, mistakes, and all of the above. Then finalize and release.

I don't know why I decided to be transparent with this release instead of any other, lol. Maybe it's the same pandemic boredom that has me on Twitter for 17 hours a day.
But I thought it would be interesting, especially when so many groups are proprietary with their recipe.

We're an ever-dwindling community. This isn't 2008 anymore. We're not gaining a ton of new members, and community expertise and long-crowd-sourced skills aren't being learned by a new generation. There's going to be a lot of forgotten shortcuts.

Maybe that would be a good thing, if there were more new faces out there to shake things up.
