This morning @HonAhmedHussen announced fantastic news for #HamOnt - our government is making a historic investment in #AffordableHousing here, with over $145M to repair nearly 6,300 social housing units in our city! bit.ly/3nnvDnl
This investment will have a real positive impact on people’s lives. Safe and stable housing is essential to our health and wellbeing. Many of these units will be for priority vulnerable groups, with almost half dedicated to seniors across the city.
Our government is working to ensure every Canadian has access to safe and affordable housing. In #Budget2021, we presented a plan to invest $2.5B and reallocate $1.3B in existing funding to make 35,000 affordable housing units available.

This morning our government has given notice of legislation titled “An Act to Provide for the Resumption and Continuation of Operations at the Port of Montreal.”
Putting forward this notice is our government’s least favoured option. We believe in the collective bargaining process.
However, the Government must act when all other efforts have been exhausted and a work stoppage is causing significant economic harm to Canadians.
