Lesbian's are same sex attracted. In law this is described as an orientation. This is key as this embeds the idea that lesbianism is not a choice or a kink.

It is this terminology that has protected lesbians (in law) against conversion, punishment, shaming & corrective rape.

When #Stonewall changed their definition from 'same sex attracted' to 'same gender attracted' (to include males) this undermines the legal protections as listed above

Where same sex attraction was protected as an orientation, now #lesbians are being asked to accept males into their dating pools & spaces

Moreover, as the teaching of #genderidenity increases many young lesbians are learning that their same sex attraction and gender nonconformity may mean they are in the wrong body

In short, being trans is more socially acceptable than being lesbian 💔

WE ask @WEP_UK & @ManduReid to consider some of the many harmful impacts (of which we have massively paraphrased) of terms like 'cis lesbian'

Lesbian is not a choice ❤️
