Human labor is the most abundant and important capital America possesses. There are two ways to allocate that resource. One of them is capitalism. Everything else is slavery. Choose wisely.
The miracle of capitalism is that it allows individuals - every last person in a free society - to own capital and invest it for a profit. That's what you're doing when you freely accept employment. You make the most profitable investment of your capital that you can find.
Your employer hires you because they value your labor more than the money they pay you. They believe they can turn a profit on the money they invest to buy your labor. Both you and the employer are free to seek better investments if either is unhappy with their profits.
It sounds simple enough, but too many people lose sight of that simple dynamic. For example, socialist central planners are perpetually surprised that people with lavish welfare benefits might decide investing their labor in a job isn't profitable enough to get them working.
Every system other than free-market capitalism presumes that most people do NOT fully own the capital of their labor. At the extremes of socialism, communism, and fascism, no one except the State truly owns any capital.
Well, if you don't own any capital, and you don't profit from investing your labor in a job, then why would you work? Answer: because you are FORCED to. There is no other answer, no matter how hard socialists pretend otherwise.
Of course loads of gauzy language and political trickery is employed to conceal this unpleasant truth. Socialists always pretend capitalism is somehow slavery and the alternative they offer is freedom, but the reverse is true. State-controlled economies allocate labor with force.
Never confuse the need to perform hard or unpleasant work with "slavery," and never confuse State control of your life with "freedom." Any sense of "liberation" you might feel from "not having to work" is illusory and temporary. That's why welfare dependents tend to be so angry.
The question you should ask when evaluating political efforts to control the economy and destroy capitalism is: "Who decides where I will work?" Capitalism is the one and only system where the answer is: YOU. The answer always changes when the State controls labor.
That doesn't mean capitalism can create a paradise when everyone does whatever they please and everybody gets rich. That fantasyland does not exist, although collectivist con artists are always pretending they have some secret genius plan to create it.
Capitalism and the pursuit of profit are the best way of allocating resources, including labor, because huge numbers of people are involved in finding and exploiting opportunities, not one little band of blinkered central planners and greedy politicians with ulterior motives.
If you are free to invest your labor and others are free to buy it from you, then everyone has the best chance of finding the most profitable and useful opportunities. That doesn't mean everyone WILL, but all have the best chances, and the nation benefits enormously.
Capitalism is inherently collaborative because compulsive force is minimized. Want me to work for you? Make me an offer and I'll consider it. Want me to invest in your company? Convince me. Want me to buy your product? Let's hear your sales pitch.
We have so tragically undervalued the relationship between capitalism and political freedom. They are inseparable. Collaborative economies that place a high value on persuasion naturally support politics that do the same. Compulsive economics support authoritarian politics.
Rest assured that no one who attacks capitalism - your freedom to own and invest property and labor as YOU see fit - is truly interested in your political freedom. In the end, you will be their slave. All that changes is how the masters posture to justify their power.
We should have spent the past 50 years using our increasing technological prowess to improve capitalism, but instead we let greedy politicians and ideological zealots work tirelessly on tearing it apart. The whole world is becoming less free as love for capitalism fades. /end

The vicious racist hatred toward Tim Scott from Democrats isn't exactly "hypocrisy," in the sense that they aren't acting contrary to their true principles. The Left has never for an instant thought racism was inherently wrong. Like everything else, it's a power dynamic to them.
After all, the Left is passionately dedicated to the idea that racial prejudice and discrimination are GOOD, provided the people subjected to prejudice, hatred, and discriminatory treatment are white or Asian. This isn't just a talking point - it's a core policy element.
"Racism" to Democrats is the result of a power and political calculation, not an absolute evil. Honestly, they've never really pretended otherwise. Hoodwinked voters just forget about it sometimes, or give institutionalized Dem racism a pass because they "mean well."

Loss of trust in government is an inevitable consequence of government growing huge and constantly insisting that all of its policy preferences are "emergencies" that require compulsory "unity."
Few Americans alive today can remember a time when their political class wasn't constantly screaming at them about "emergencies" and "crises" that supposedly justified discarding the restraints on government, and even dispensing with democracy. The Fierce Urgency of Now!
We lived in a perpetual state of emergency, a constant state of "war" against various social issues. The better things were, the louder our political and media class railed against our complacency and screamed at us to get up and DO SOMETHING RIGHT NOW.

You have to understand that the Left sees people purely in terms of ideology. Your politics define your very existence to them. You're just a bag of meat and blood wrapped around a little spark of power they wish to harvest. Black Republicans aren't "really black."
As we've seen over the past few days, the Left doesn't even care if the supposed objects of its maternal political affection are gutted with knives in schoolyards. They don't care about the tidal wave of murders their ideology has unleashed, or black people killed in BLM riots.
But long before that, leftists routinely stripped sacred markers of identity from people with the "wrong" politics. Black conservatives aren't black, conservative women aren't women, etc. The protections of political correctness apply only to members of the Party.

I think about maps like this when I read my friend John Nolte's taunts about blue cities getting the corruption and chaos they voted for, while life is good out in MAGA Land: breitbart.com/law-and-order/…

The Abolish the Police Party is dedicated to urbanizing flyover country.
The Abolish the Police Party (aka the Democrat Party) doesn't feel a moment of shame when reminded that its policies turn every city into a hellhole. They just redouble their efforts into making EVERY INCH of America a hellhole. They'll bring Chicago to YOU.
As I wrote at length yesterday, one of the animating principles of Abolish the Police is the desire to strip middle-class suburbs of their protection against blue-city pathologies. They Left loathes the notion of middle-class security.

It might seem odd that the dangerous lunatics who run the Democrat Party are so bitterly opposed to the police. They're authoritarians with a huge coercive agenda - shouldn't they love the agencies that will enforce their myriad laws?
You have to understand that Democrats will have plenty of ENFORCERS after they abolish the police. The State will keep growing, issuing more orders, and using both financial penalties and physical force to ensure those orders are obeyed. Resistance will be violently suppressed.
What Democrats loathe is the concept of a police force that has some inherent duty to protect THE PUBLIC. They want lethal government force reserved for defending THEM (just look at D.C.), protecting their interests, and enforcing their will.

Of course she won't be, which highlights a problem the media doesn't want to talk about: Democrats were encouraging mob violence and attacking the legitimacy of the United States with complete impunity long before any Trump voter grew angry about the 2020 election.
Challenging the legitimacy of the current Republican-run U.S. government, and the legitimacy of the American nation itself, has been a staple of Democrat rhetoric for generations. They usually end up openly fantasizing about assassinating the Republican in the White House.
Violent street theater has likewise been a staple Democrat tactic for ages. These signals were not only received by their intended recipients on the hard Left. Where did the Jan 6 demonstrators get the idea to challenge the legitimacy of an election? From Democrats, of course.
