‘I’m giving it everything I’ve got.’
1 Corinthians 9:26 MSG
1. Long-distance runners don’t just focus on speed, but on endurance. They pace themselves so that as they approach the finish line, they can pull out all the stops. Paul said, ‘I’m running hard for the finish line…giving it everything I’ve got…I’m not going to get caught…
2..telling everyone else…then missing out myself’ (vv.26-27). For long-distance runners, giving up isn’t an option. Despite delays & disappointments along the way, they know they’ll never be satisfied sitting on the sidelines cheering those who’ve paid the price to run the race.
3. So if you’re the kind of person who longs to fulfil your God-ordained purpose in life – give it everything you’ve got. Go for it, and don’t forget that Jesus said, ‘Great gifts mean great responsibilities’ (Luke 12:48). It’s one thing to achieve success; it’s another thing...
4...to handle the pressures that go along with it. ‘Jesus…finished this race…Because he never lost sight of where he was headed…he could put up with anything’ (Heb 12:2). Having something great to look forward to enables you to endure. And God will expose you to opposition and
5...criticism to strengthen your character; that way when greater blessings and responsibilities come, you’ll be able to handle them. Success is only possible when you have a passion to cross the finish line. So the question is, can you pay the price? When the pressure is on, ...
6...can you stand up like Nehemiah when he rebuilt Jerusalem’s walls and tell your opponents this: ‘My work is too important to stop’ (Neh 6:3)? If your answer is yes, fix your eye on the goal and run to the finish line.
In May 2018, I did the thread below to draw attention to the fact that many States were not compliant with the requirements of the Pencom Act. I am afraid to say that nothing much has changed. Most Civil Servants in States will retire without a Pension. #StateOfStates#PensionNG
There is an entire GPZ (NE) that is almost 100% non compliant. The only thing 3 States (Adamawa, Gombe & Taraba) can point to as an achievement in 16 years since Pencom Act was passed is that they've enacted CPS law. No Pension Bureau, No CPS Remittance, No Actuarial evaluation.

1. Aesop, the famed author, said, ‘No act of kindness, no matter how small, ever is wasted.’ As one pastor writes, ‘It costs to be unkind, but it pays to be kind.’ Now, being kind doesn’t mean tolerating wrong or refusing to confront a problem in order to be politically correct.
2. Sometimes we must confront. But it should always be done in a gracious way. A calm demeanour will go a lot further than a harsh comment or an ugly tone of voice. You can make your point with a kind spirit, and even a sense of humour. Don’t be like the man who was standing in..
There are many brilliant students in our schools. Most of them will never get to become a Victory Morenike. Why? It's not just about the brilliance of the child, it's also about parenting - Doing what's needed to get the child to where the child should be
You see, this thing is not easy. It is not just about being able to afford to send a child to a good school. The parents must be involved. Once the brilliance of the child is obvious, you will need to become a researcher, looking for essay competitions or summer progs that will..
...help increase the child's knowledge & build capacity. Each success builds the child's confidence & makes them believe they can do more. Then u become the motivational speaker. The one always encouraging because no matter how brilliant they are, they always 2nd guess themselves
‘You are with me…I…am not afraid. No one can harm me.’
Psalm 56:9-11 CEV
1. The approval of others is something we all enjoy, but you don’t need it in order to have self-worth. In fact, people pleasing will cause you to lose self-worth. You turn yourself inside out for others, and just when you think you’ve succeeded, they change their minds.
2. Besides robbing you of your peace of mind, people pleasing makes it impossible to follow God’s direction – and that ultimately is your greatest loss. If you’re a people pleaser, changing the habits of a lifetime won’t be easy. It will require facing what you fear and asking...
I recall when I came to London in 2009. My dad was at Heathrow to welcome me. He bought an Oyster card for me. The card is your ticket to ride on all London buses and trains. You can buy a weekly, monthly, daily or ‘Pay As You Go’ pass.
The Oyster card opens the barriers before you board the train or exit the train station. So, as my dad used his ticket, the barriers opened, he went through and just before it would close, I quickly followed him behind and passed through.
I don’t know why I did that.
But my first guess would be, it was the Naija sharp guy thinking that made me pass quickly without paying. My dad was terribly upset and asked me to return and pay.
A few months later, I got on a bus and with the same mindset of a ‘sharp guy’, I didn’t pay. Normally, there are..
