Thread about my experience with the virus and ivermectin recently. It was quite a non-event because my husband and I got rid of the virus fast, but some people may find it useful. It’s a given that you should consult your own doctor for treatment.
One morning a few weeks ago, my husband woke up with body ache and felt like he may be getting a fever. He immediately took ivermectin, zinc, quercetin, vitamin C, and high dose Vitamin D. The next day, he was fine except for loss of smell. That returned after a week.
I took ivermectin as a preventative but should’ve immediately increased my dose. Only did so, & added azithromycin, when I felt an odd tightening in my chest (I’ve had pneumonia previously & am prone to chest infections). It cleared up quickly but I also lost my smell for a week.
Sister in law fell ill with the virus next. She had quite severe body ache, loss of smell etc. No chest issues though. She took the similar standard treatment (IVM, doxycycline, Vitamins C, D, zinc) and also improved greatly overnight. Now fully recovered.
Brother in law was the latest person in the family to get the virus. His doctor prescribed him the Ziverdo kit (ivermectin, doxycycline, zinc combo) and Vitamin D. He also recovered without issue and is fine now.
The most important thing is to treat immediately, or during the first few days of symptoms. Don’t wait to see if it gets worse! Find a good doctor who is familiar with the use of medications/therapeutics. I follow @drakchaurasia
My husband and I didn’t have any downtime thanks to early treatment. Loss of smell was the only big thing. Drugs such as ivermectin etc do work effectively but increased dose, different combinations, may be necessary given virus variants and symptoms.

While I was in #Odisha, it was fascinating to spend time with the potters of Goudaguda village in #Koraput. There are about 20-30 potters in the colony and it’s possible to watch them at work. This is the start of the #pottery process, mixing up the clay.
This makes it easy to pick up the clay.
Mixing the clay is a very physically demanding process!
The #RathaJatra festival is being celebrated at the Jagannath temple in Puri, Odisha today. For those who want to learn more about the temple's heritage and how it functions, @GrassRoutesJnys conducts an insightful immersive tour of the Old City around it: grassroutesjourneys.com/html/tour_puri…
One of the highlights is visiting the potters colony, which provides about 15,000 new clay pots to the temple every day. They're used for cooking the 56 different dishes that are offered as holy food to the deity and later sold to devotees as mahaprasad.
Men carry the pots of all sizes to the temple in baskets on their heads. They walk barefooted for purity. It's an astonishing and captivating sight. The men must be so strong!
