Today, at the commissioning of LagosHOMS Phase 2 Scheme at Igbogbo, I presented a 3- bedroom apartment to Mama Awero, a Nollywood veteran. I believe our cultural icons should be celebrated when alive and not only after they are no more.
The 360 unit estate comprising 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments symbolises our unwavering commitment to the Greater Lagos Project, and our determination to build and deliver modern homes that will cater for the need of Lagosians irrespective of social or economic status.
We are doing extensive road infrastructure in Igbogbo and we are extending another road from Ibeshe. The Baiyeku Road needs to be fixed and we will look at it once we are able to push the ongoing Igbogbo road project to a significant stage.

I thank H.E President @MBuhari, WTO DG @NOIweala, @AfDB_Group President @akin_adesina, Founder and Chair @Mo_IbrahimFdn Mo Ibrahim and other dignitaries who joined me as I unveiled the 10 year infrastructural ambition for Lagos State at the Ehingbeti Lagos Economic Summit today
Lagos is the economic capital of Nigeria and I invite our residents, visitors and investors to look ahead to the next decade, and the possibilities that lie ahead for Lagos as we set this great city up for accelerated progress.
There will be a city-wide network of colour-coded Metro Lines, the first two of which – Red and Blue lines – will move over 34.5 million people monthly, cutting travel time by over 250 percent.

Lagos,

There is an urgent need for us to be more circumspect in the way we live, interact and socialize with our friends and family. Many people are ignoring #COVID19 warnings and guidelines, thereby exposing themselves and others to the virus.
We are well into the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic. Yesterday, Lagos scarily recorded its highest number of infection in one day (712. We have already recorded a frightening spike in infection cases.
This spike brings positive cases to a total of 32,720 in Lagos alone.
This second wave comes with severe symptoms, and the higher number of positive cases we detect, the higher number of casualties we’re bound to record. We do not want this, but for this to be avoided, we must be intentional and cautious.

At our annual state thanksgiving service today, I underscored the importance of showing gratitude to God in all situations even as we reflect deeply on all that transpired in the just concluded year 2020.
As a State, we cannot but give unending praise to God considering all that happened last year.

We did not only survive, we triumphed, and we can look back and say that we emerged from 2020 stronger and more confident about the inherent greatness and resilience of our State.
In the spirit of thanksgiving, we recommit ourselves in service to Lagosians as we commission over 377 projects across the state within the next few weeks.

Today, on our journey across Lagos, we paid respect to the ones we have lost. It was an emotional time for everyone, and we will find a way to remember them in the coming days.
Lagos belongs to us all. No other state has this unique combination of people living in peace, harmony and progress so it saddened me when I went round for an on-the-spot assessment to ascertain the level of destruction to public assets and private properties.
Our beautiful city has seen a level of destruction almost akin to a war zone. It was a shocking and very sad spectacle. Our land took a beating and this hurts. Historical buildings, cultural centres, private malls, government holdings and private businesses were pillaged & burnt.
