.@CDCDirector is completely incompetent.

Look, besides crying again ("Impending Doom"), citing raw case totals when last May 11 there were like 57 tests run per day in the US and now its 1.3M per day, is basic Covid 101 that this Twitter account learned 13 months ago.

The 7DMA positivity rate, just hit a PANDEMIC LOW 2.85%. Positivity rate is a crude metric in and of itself, but its a hell of a lot better than RAW CASE NUMBERS.

This is who is running the CDC? Hasn't even graduated from Covid 101?

I found a tweet of mine from May 2020. On 5/11/2020, 24,000 positives on 290,000 tests. Positivity of 8.2%.

Today the Positivity rate is 2.85% on 1.275 MILLION TESTS!

The amount of incompetence amongst our public health officials is astounding!

DeSantis says Florida legislature is going to pass a Vaccine Passport law that will apply to businesses as well as government, that he will sign. Will supercede his executive order.

Abbott says he will work with industry. He does manage to mention the EUA of vaccines.

The IHME numbers being so terrible, predicting Texas would max out its hospitals on April 12, and we not even hitting 10%, just made me dig harder.

Started doing graphs. They were sad, terrible graphs, you can barely read them. LOL

Thus far the biggest complaints from those that want and desire our corporations and government to require us to show papers are:

1) Schools require vax papers - I will have a paper on that this week.
2) Businesses not CE - while technically true....

...that argument misses the entire point of my HIPAA primer. My point is that here we have a law that is designed to protect PHI and we pretend it doesn't exist because businesses can claim they are not CE.

I argue if you are requiring the validation a person's record of provision of health care (i.e. vaccination status), PHI, you are functioning as a CE. You will have to pull PHI records to prove yes/no. Does HIPAA need to be amended to encompass new business types. Probably.
