How COVID became a man-made crisis:
1. Ignored the warnings, took virus lightly
2. Organized super-spreader event Namaste Trump
3. Suddenly panicked & imposed unplanned lockdown
4. Did not show empathy to daily wagers, migrant workers. Killed 100s. (1/n)

5. Let migrant workers suffer instead of helping them
6. Put headline management above help, stopped opposition parties from helping migrant workers
7. Decreased testing instead of ramping-up during lockdown
8. Made medical staff struggle & fight for PPE kits

9. Chose to bang thaalis, light diyas & spend on showering petals, instead of ensuring safety + fair compensation to healthcare workers

If @RahulGandhi was our Prime Minister, he would have handled the #COVID situation much much better. Here's why (Thread👇):
He had figured out the dangers of the virus back on 12th Feb 2020. While the govt was busy planning campaign for PM of another country with Namaste Trump preps with massive gatherings and while living in denial. @RahulGandhi would've started taking preventive action in time.
While the GoI was living in denial about the virus and fooling the people of India, had @RahulGandhi been PM he would've been honest to the Indian people and taking action to ensure preventive measures and stop the virus from spreading within time.

22nd Feb: Women Protestors start peaceful protest at the Jaffrabad Metro Station against CAA/NRC

23rd Feb (3PM): Kapil Misra addresses rally 1KM from protest site where they threaten to take 'law in hands' if peaceful protestors are not cleared. ImageImage
23rd Feb(~4PM): Some ppl arrive & start pelting stones. Police fired teargas & disperses crowd.

23th Feb(8PM): 'ProCAA' protestors gather & start chant slogans instigating violence. (Goli maaro saalo ko + India me rehna hai to JSR kehna hoga) Image
23rd Feb(11PM): Truck dumped stones at proCAA site. Slogans of 'Modiji Sangharsh Karo hum tumhare saath hai' can be heard in background.

Ok I have to do this. I always had a keen interest in politics just had NO IDEA how to enter. Honestly, I never even thought I'd ever be a part of the system in anyway because which middle class person with NO political background or backing even gets here 🤷‍♀️

And then I came across NSUI elections. As it turns out, when @RahulGandhi as AICC GS became the in-charge of NSUI & IYC, he put his vision of opening up the system into practice.He wanted to open the doors of the Congress party to everyone - irrespective of anything.
So anyone could now join the system - irrespective of political background, financial status, gender, religion, caste, nothing mattered. NSUI also reserved positions for women & people belonging to SC & ST categories. And that's how I entered.
