π’ NEW RELEASE : The Helping Adolescents Thrive Toolkit, developed by WHO & @UNICEF, provides guidance for people working in the health, social services, education & justice sectors on how to promote & protect adolescent mental health.
#MentalHealth conditions are among the leading causes of illness & disability among adolescents π¦π§, with suicide the 4β£th most common cause of death in people aged 15-19 years.
The Helping Adolescents Thrive Toolkit includes tools to help implement adolescent #MentalHealth programmes. It also features examples of programmes already introduced to benefit adolescents.

WHO & @UNICEF have launched a Comic Book & accompanying Teacherβs Guide, for use by teachers
school counsellors & #MentalHealth professionals to plan & facilitate classroom activities focused on socio-emotional learning of adolescents aged 10-14 yrs.
ποΈ The strategies recommended in the Helping Adolescents Thrive toolkit include school-based programmes that address negative behaviours at school & help ensure a conducive learning environment to student well-being.
Psychosocial support should be provided to prevent #MentalHealth conditions & promote mental well-being π, not only among adolescents but also parents, other caregivers & teachers, especially those in vulnerable situations.
