(1/??) Alright, a few asked me, it'd be nice to have an old summary tweet anyways to share with people in the future, here's everything I've ever claimed in a leaking way for RE7, RE:2, RE:3, RE8.
RE7 is easy peasy to talk about, I hardly shared anything pre-RE7 release. The only
(2/??) thing I shared publicly about RE7 pre-release was that the things people were calling "Shadows" at the time were made out of Mold, it's very minor & I only mention it to be complete.
Now, from here it gets trickier, a lot of my early claims are lost since I didn't say them
(3/??) on Twitter, but GAF at the time (don't go there, it's a shithole these days), so I mainly have some articles talking about things I said back then & my own word here.

So first, Rely on Horror transcribed one of my earlier rumors, from Feb 2017:
relyonhorror.com/latest-news/le…
(4/??) If you click the article source, you'll see it goes back to my post, but I deleted the post like I did many GAF post.

I mentioned there Not a Hero was going to be delayed to late 2017 before that was announced, & the other details I shared:
-Be two types of Molded, one
(5/??) inspired by the Face Huggers from Alien (this was true).
-Chris used a high-tech suit, healed with steroids, can punch enemies. (This was true, but the steroid thing was changed to the final)
-Not a Hero was developed by a third-party studio, but Capcom wasn't happy with
(6/??) the result, so were reworking it themselves. (this is true & why it got delayed).
-You rescue your operatives from three trap dungeons Lucas set-up. (True, but in the final you don't save them, they die.)
-There is a unique boss battle. (Ended up being 2, one mini-boss).
(7/??)Everything I shared about Not a Hero was true, from the delay, to the details, why some people started giving me credit then. There was a weird narrative from some at the time I datamined that info since there was some Not a Hero info in RE7's files, but that's specifically
(8/??)why I made sure to share info that wasn't from that, including the delay a couple weeks before it was announced, talking specifically about the type of Molded, the three Lucas dungeons, etc, which weren't mentioned at all (just mechanical things like the gas mask).

Next-up
(9/??)we have End of Zoe DLC. Some will remember this, but unfortunately this one is a bit lost to time. I'm half right, half wrong in it though
I claimed the 2nd RE7 DLC piece was going to be in mostly outdoor locations, "horror-focused", & Jordan Amaro, a guy who worked on P.T.
(10/??) worked on it.

So, firstly, obviously the final DLC, End of Zoe, did not end up being horror focused. Jordan Amaro left Capcom in early 2017 (to join with Nintendo), & directorial duties on the DLC shifted. His original idea was horror, the melee focus & weapons in the
(11/??) environment shifted to hobo punching simulator, & going more action with it (though I love End of Zoe). This is the first example of something I claimed being changed heavily in dev, so put a footnote in that.

OKAY, RE:2 time now! A lot of the early things I said on RE:2
(12/??) are lost to time, since I posted a lot of it on the Biohaze forums, which were scrubbed in 2018. HOWEVER, two Portugease websites did pick up on a number of things I said and a couple articles.

evilhazard.com.br/resident-evil-…

So what I shared there:
-A & B Scenarios were in the
(13/??) game, but discarded to focus more on the main campaign as production schedule was delayed. (This is true, but a super mini A & B campaign was put in the final last minute, which is also why the devs on reveal said no A & B campaigns, then towards launch said they were in
(14/??)again, was a last minute change.)
Also from Biohaze, but less recorded, I had mentioned certain elements, like the Gator, were being cut out & being put back into the game over & over again due to constant internal debates (which funnily enough, this specific Gator comment
(15/??) was later said in an interview pre-release how they kept debating on it & adding it in, taking it out).

I'm pretty close with the Rely on Horror guys, I was the first editor for the site years ago, I was the "Anonmous" source for this: relyonhorror.com/latest-news/so…

I only
(16/??) shared basic things I knew at the time would be 100% true of the final. IE, it ran on RE Engine, but the RE Engine had been much improved since RE7, specifically the lighting & shadows to allow an "inky darkness" would be true of the final. It was aiming to be playable on
(17/??)4k, the first RE game aiming for that, though they actually surpassed their 30fps goal with 4k mode for a full 60 in the end. Leon would mostly look the same, but they were redesigning Claire's look a lot.
It's be third-person, over-the-shoulder, a "modernized" RE4 control
(18/??) focus, but aiming to be a survival-horror experience.
My big blunder on RE:2, though I wasn't wrong, was they tried to get Fixed Angles working for launch, which I claimed on Era. Now, the devs did touch on this on their RE:2 round-table, they wanted Fixed Angles to be an
(19/??) unlockable, but backed out to focus on the one angle, but I was wrong to try & share something that wasn't finalized. I even said at the time it wasn't & they were looking into it & seriously considering it, but in retrospective most people don't want to hear about things
(20/??) not true of the final, & because it was definitely a comment that interested folks, it got latched onto, & as it wasn't true of the final, it's deservedly held against me. A big takeaway from me there was to be more careful with what I shared with in-development details,
(21/??) though there's one more thing I said on RE:3 related to this we'll get back to.

So before RE:3, I did a long tweet wall about scrapped RE ideas, that's on my Twitter, but I decided to share a few things about the state of the series post-RE:2 launch, on Era & Twitter.
(22/??) One record of this is here: comicbook.com/gaming/news/re…

I was saying since RE:2's launch that Resident Evil 3 Remake would be "releasing a LOT sooner than people thought", & the series would be "Essentially Annual for the next few years.

People didn't believe me at the time
(23/??) since Capcom had said on Resident Evil 3 Remake that they weren't working on it right now, & were looking for RE:2 feedback deciding if they would (these two comments from Capcom were lies btw, RE:3 was well already in development in 2019).
So because Capcom released that
(24/??) statement, there started being this narrative I was a liar since "Capcom proved me wrong," even though I was right & telling the truth.

I also mentioned that I heavily believed Resistance was RE3 Remake's multiplayer mode, as I had heard they were experimenting w/a 4v1
(25/34) multiplayer mode with survivors vs Nemesis, & this looked like an evolved form of that, which yeah.

Also after the RE:3 PSN leak showing the cover art but no in-game shots, people thought Jill looked weird, so I decided to post one in-game shot:
(26/34) This was shared from me, I don't believe I was the only person in insider circles who had access to this screen, but only shared it since Jill looked good in RE:3, & wanted to calm discourse of her face from the early box leak, I don't normally share screens & videos, as
(27/34) more easily traceable. Though I did share the RE7 dancing one, but dig through my tweets to find that.

I did make a comment that wasn't true of the final to make a hub Raccoon City area, this was in an earlier build, but definitely wasn't true of the final.

Which leads
(28/34) us to RE8.

So, first thing, I said RE8 was "years away", but there'd be a spin-off game releasing ahead of that in January 2020. Now, I'm wrong here, but my intent was good. This was related to me thinking Village was Rev 3 at the time. For the record, in 2018 I was told
(29/34) by a source that "Revelations 3" starred Chris, Ethan, & a third-playable character, in a snowy village in some mountains in Europe, releasing cross-gen in late 2020/early 2021. Village was sidelined, but not to Rev 3, to a side game just titled, "Village", & what was RE8
(30/34)at the time got shifted to RE9 when Village became RE8 again (longer story there).
The other thing was a comment I made on the PS5 performance, which was I said at the time RE8 was having trouble running on PS5 with new graphical effects they were testing, & having trouble
(31/35)reaching 108060fps even with them. I said though Capcom had talented devs, & it'd be fixed by launch. People really took this comment, ran with it, I regret saying it, but I also wasn't wrong. RE8 was having big issues on PS5 in early 2020, you just need to watch the first
(32/35) couple trailers to see that.
There was also a comment on Alex & Rebecca I was straight-up wrong about due to my confusion of RE8 being Rev 3, but I did delete that one after a contact asked me to delete it, & chewed me out for it.
Hold this chain, I'll return to it, but new Infinite Darkness news I want to tweet about.

(1/3) This next month and a half is literally fucking crazy for my niche game taste. Psychonauts 2 & No More Heroes 3 both have released to great reviews for what they are & a lot of love from fans. Tormented Souls seems to have come out as a solid genuine survival-horror game, ImageImageImage
(2/3)but with the rough edges that contains & some exploitation horror elements. For stuff coming up shortly, I'm personally excited for Life is Strange: True Colors, I like its setting & premise. WarioWare: Get It Together is looking very fun! Deathloop I suspect is going to end ImageImageImage
(3/4) end up a cult hit. For those who love Kojima's Death Stranding, the Director's Cut is soon. Outer Wilds is amazing, & the Echoes of the Eye expansion will probably turn out fantastic. I'm a big fan of some classic Super Monkey Ball, so the remake of 1 & 2 in Banana Mania is ImageImageImage

(1/10) Resident Evil 4 VR info from the Oculus Gaming Event... with low quality gifs!
RE4 VR is a joint effort between Armature, Capcom & Oculus. Confirmed to be a FULL remaster of the game, the entirety of RE4 will be playable from start to finish in VR. This is a Remaster with
(2/10) upgraded textures (over 4500 new or upgraded textures), geometry. The audio has been reworked into 3D audio, where all noise sources will come from their origin in the environment.

The game is running in Unreal 4. Animations have been fully ported from the original.
(3/10) They've gone map to map, scene to scene, recreating the game faithfully, while touching up areas they think will work better in VR. Various opens are interactable with VR, including ammo and weapons. Manual reloading is how you do it in the game, drop the ammo & you gotta'

(1/??) Heyoo! I'm excited for the vocal theme in Resident Evil Village, "Yearning for Dark Shadows," so I wanted to do a little Twitter chain about the history of vocal songs related to the Resident Evil series.

I think this will be a fun little Twitter Thread.

We start with
(2/??) the original game, which had a couple vocal themes made for it in Japan to help promotion of the original Resident Evil game. Fun fact, RE1 having this vocal theme in Japan for marketing I hear inspired RE7 to follow suit later.
Its cheesy but fun:
(3/??) The first song, "I won't let this end as a dream..." was used in Japanese promotion for the game/ending of Biohazard 1. The second song, "Icy Gaze", was used in the Japanese OP in some versions, a part of it at least, but gets a bit less coverage.

(1/6) I'm going to tweet about the Sony parity contract thing a bit, it has some affect but it's not as big a deal as some may think.
This contract is real, but this is pretty standard. There is some aspects it affects, but not as much as you'd think.

There was something similar
(2/6) to RE7. How I understand it was done for RE7 was the game was designed with PS4 Pro as the lead platform. There are features that other platforms can do better than on PS4 Pro, for example shadows on PC was better than PS4 Pro, Sony aren't going for the throat with this,
(3/6) or if the game performs slightly better on other hardware. But any content that could be on PS4 Pro had to be.

There is one area this affected, mainly the textures. I had a discussion once with someone pre-RE7 release if the textures on PC would be the same or better than

(1/3) You know those moments where you want to share a thought, but it'd take some explaining, & no one will probably care if you do? Well this is that kinda' tweet.

So I was randomly watching a scene from the Looney Tunes Show where Cecil Turtle points a gun at Bugs & Porky.
(2/3) So I've seen the show, it's surprisingly good, I get curious to see other's thoughts so I read the comments. One of them is someone saying, "Even back then, I was surprised the network allowed this." Which someone rightfully called out, this show was just from 2012, but
(3/4) then someone responded it was a simpler time back then.
But I remember 2012 being a bit complicated, but then I was 21 in 2012, and it got me thinking about how people's perceptions naturally shift as you get older, since to this person, probably a teen now, they think 2012

(1/3) Some compilation of all of them. Resident Evil canon is split into layers, and the "fully canon" version of certain games is not playable. For example, in RE1, Chris, Jill, Barry, Rebecca all escape, Chris & Jill both explored the mansion & Rebecca and Barry's events did
(2/3) happen. There's actually NO canon way to play what happened in RE1, each version has discrepancies.

But ultimately it's not really importants. There's basically five tiers of Resident Evil canon facts:
A. Big general events that happened & are important, IE Raccoon City.
(3/4) B. Important details for specific characters/events, IE Jill getting infected in RE3.
C. A key event that happened, but how it happened is murky. IE, Ada "dies" in RE:2, or appears to, but how this happened exactly is murky. Brad "dies" in Raccoon City by the Police Station
