Seven Habits of TRYING to be Successful

-I wrote this when I was 23, (Im 32 now). Its good advice

1. Waking up stupid early
If you want anything in life to happen, you have to make something move, and that means getting that started as soon as possible...
If you want to maximize your quantitative experience, then start your day early. If you want waste time, then wake up whenever you like

But don’t be surprised when you get beaten by someone who put in more time than you did—because it will happen.
2. Working way later than you should.
Rarely do people fail because they devote too much time to something

Aside from actively working to create opportunity, there will also always be instances where someone has the good fortune to simply be the person that showed up first...
stayed late, and was in just the right place at just the right time

That does occasionally happen (not that it's something to ever count on), but it arises from you being there in the first place—before and after everyone else.
3. Being tired.
If you devote enough time to something you care about, then it will make you tired. At times your sleep will suffer, you will run on coffee and energy drinks...but it will be worth it at the end

Get comfortable with it and dont avoid it., fatigue is a skill
4. Putting up with bullshit and/or dumbasses.

No one gets through life bullshit-free, at least no one who has done anything worthwhile. You will have bosses you hate, coworkers that give your whole industry a bad name, and team members who are disrespectful assholes...
You will also be forced to endure all manner of incompetency, pointless meetings and trainings, backstabbing, lawsuits, work politics, petty bullshit over who said what, and every other eye-stabbing irritation you can think of

And it never ends because...
The more successful you become, the more aware you will be of how screwed everything can be

You can be let this bother you and be angry constantly

OR,
You can set boundaries, standards of excellence, vigorously enforce them, work for yourself or start your own business, and...
earn to let go of things you cant affect, do what you can, and do your damnedest to do the right things, make things work, and accept that people are people and that the bullshit and the obstacles are what make you better over everything else
5. Out-learning everyone around you

The day you stop learning is the day you steadily start working to become irrelevant. Anything that might be relative to what you do: read it, watch it, learn it, work with that expert person, and find a way to gain greater perspective...
Knowledge is value, and the most well-respected people in a field are the ones who simply “know more" compared to everyone else—Learning never stops, and it becomes more and more important the higher you go.
6. Knowing that this is going to take awhile

Things are going to take as long as they are supposed to take—not how long you want them to take

Again, this will be repeated across the entirety of your human experience. So, you had better learn to enjoy the process
7. Failing forward

You’re going to fail...a lot. And sometimes really badly. There are different ways of failing, and I can't readily say that everything can be well handled (as there will be times when you royally fuck up)
The best advice I could give is to fail forward
Somehow fail ahead of where you started.

Learn everything you can from it and work to end up ahead. Sometimes you fail sideways.

Success is not a straight path—sometimes going sideways gives you the perspective to move back to where you need to be.

The idea of Nature being peaceful and equal and loving is a modern deception

The animal world is one of Indiscriminate violence, prey animals are eaten alive asshole first, killing for fun is common, aging predators dye in starvation or being killed by their own kind...
The very act of going to a river to drink can end in death,

Weak and lame offspring are left to die and/or killer, mothers will eat their own children for food if need be

The world of man is kinder and gentler by orders of magnitude
The civilized world is built on creating boundaries that protect man against the wild

roofs, walls, Fences and fire pits

Structure and infrastructure
is protection and passage Against and through the environment

The teacher of Hippocrates was Herodicus. He is called the Father of Sports Medicine

He lived during the 5th century BC, he was the first physician known to have prescribed exercises as medicine

He commonly recommend 20 mile walks to his patients to restore robustness
He was a former athletic trainer, and he believed that ill health resulted from imbalance between not enough exercise, and too much eating.

To restore health, he recommended regular, daily training, and a strict diet free of rich and sweet foods
This was 2500 years ago, for perspective, and he understood obesity better than most doctors today. Your modern primary care doctor is likely to be a fat fuck with 38% bodyfat and a neck wattle as he is to be healthy.

Let that sink in.

GREAT MEN OF THE 20TH CENTURY

Mr. Jones is known for Nautilus Exercise Equipment

But he was an adventurer, hunter, explorer, film maker, Ive always found him an immensely interesting character

His motto for life was "younger women, faster airplanes, and bigger crocodiles"...
1. Nautilus Exercise Equipment

Jones was like any other bro, he wanted to gain mass and was frustrated as his struggle to put on size

His invention of machines came from his own frustrations with conventional movements

Jones was DECADES ahead of his time on this
He invented over 20 different machines, which are still described as being the best EVER made (the originals that is)

Jones got his bodyweight up to 205 lbs at one point, and was only around 5'9 in height

The best business advice I ever got was from a bay area Meth dealer while I was in Jail

The guy was a genius and a psychopath, had been selling dope to techies and yuppies for decades and basically taught himself law to keep getting in & out of jail

Irreplaceable education
I dont suggest committing felonies and doing time

BUT...if you do, you'll learn more about business and (people) than you ever will reading fucking business books.

Stay safe and obey the law boys and girls
Your goal in creating a service or product is to fill a niche and make your what you are selling absolutely necessitous to the person

Make your dope the absolute best, and people will always be happy to pay, and they'll want more

Most Relevant Metrics for Health

-Resting Heart Rate (the lower the better generally)

-Bodycomposition (ratio of lean body mass to muscle)

-Bodyweight (contrary to fitness mythology, BMI Does matter. You are probably NOT the genetic outlier that contradicts this)
You improve your resting heart rate by doing...CARDIO.

Walking daily is an easy way to get Zone 1 activity in,

More rigorous Zone 2 work is done at a faster place

HIIT is something of a hack, but I firmly believe daily WALKING should be part of everyones lifestyle Image
When I say relevant, these are numbers Anyone can easily measure and manage themselves

Obviously you can get more in depth with bloodwork, but now you're getting tests ordered and need to know how to interpret

The idea that a man must be "high value" to attract women is pure BS. Its cope

Women will be with loser men ALL the time. Confidence and being cocksman will keep women coming back, regardless of lacking everywhere else
Hard reality is most men live their lives as losers, and its not until they gain financial and professional success and FINALLY have some veracity and swagger that women respond to them positively

They ironically make the same mistake feminists make...
That Men must really care about their professional success and accolades.

"Women only want to fuck winners at the finish line!"

Eh, not quite bro, you just finally started walking around like you have balls after 30+ years & learned girls like confidence
