Good afternoon! I’m here in front of Royce Hall in UCLA, where a banner drop reading “Cops Off UCLA.”
Was just handed a flyer and a Zine from an organization called @copsoffearth . 
Some debate between a man and Ho says he’s a faculty member and an organizer group. The faculty member takes issue with the F word and wants reform, the group is calling for “abolition now.”
The man who states he was more reform minded and his friend caught up for a quick chat. He says “as long as there are bad people, we do need cops.”
I’d put the crowd currently at around 50 people.
Somebody brought a hot wheels car.
Speeches happening right now- a representative of @copsoffearth discussing the campus policing model.
Group beginning to march- definitely an increase in numbers, probably closer to 75 now. I’m hearing the plan is to go towards the University Campus Police Station for UCLA.
Upon closer inspection, this is not a hot wheels car. ACatWithNews deeply regrets the error.
Crowd moved to the streets now. Current chant is “hey hey/ Ho Ho / UCPD’s got to go”
The UCLA protest is now approaching the intersection of UCPD chanting “whose streets? Our streets!”
Crowd in front of UPD chanting, then cheered and are on their way to block the nearby intersection.
Crowd now making chalk art in the intersection- and a lot of chalk.
One speech being made, after the chalk art was done regarding the dispossession of homes in Sheikh Jarrah.
