Communication skills are not only a way to build influence with others.

It's a way to build influence with yourself.
'I thought communication only meant how I dealt with others?'

Then you thought wrong, my friend...
Let me teach you something that you were probably never taught

Let me teach you how communication really works
What you'll learn from this talk are 3 main points:

-The 5 Levels of Communication

-How to rewire beliefs with words

-Why you were STRATEGICALLY not taught communication
Let's get started from the beginning

From the beginning, there were 5...
5 Levels of Communication:

Level 1 - Communication with Self - Self Awareness

Level 2 - Communication with Person - Conversation

Level 3 - Communication with Group - Teamwork

Level 4 - One to Many Communication - Public Speaking

Level 5 - Communication + Technology - Media
Level 1 communication influences all others

You try to look out

But all answers lead back within...
Most try to do it the exact opposite

They try to do all the other levels besides level 1

They try to build influence with all others

But themself.
But this is a losing strategy

That's like buying pillows, the bed comforter, the sheets...

All that

But you don't even have a mattress
Start with the mattress first

Start with yourself first
The question is how do you rewire beliefs with words?

Actually, better question.

CAN you even rewire belief with words?
The answer is yes.

Words create an instantaneous thought in the mind

And the words can go past natural laws
'What do you mean that words can go past natural laws?'

I mean that the words don't have to represent a REAL thing

But the mind can still imagine it
Few Examples, take your pick:

Picture a green giraffe

A flying monkey

Picture yourself with horns
These 3 pictures are something that your imagination can produce

Why?

Because you know what green looks like

You know what a giraffe looks like

A cross combination is light work. That's imagination
But what will not work is getting cute with it

When you use a word that the mind lacks tangible representations of

And cannot even mimic

Like:

-Picture infinity
-Picture the world without a sky
These commands are too grand

And the mind has no clue where to begin
So to rewire your beliefs with words?

Use words that have a tangible meaning to the memory bank of the mind

And any form of cross combination is possible
By choosing your words more carefully, thought waves alter

This is why writing is a good habit to pick up

Starting a youtube channel

Something that requires conscious placement of words
This field is known as:

Psycholinguistics - When mind and words meet

Neurolinguistics - When nervous system and words meet
Strategic use of words is how you build level 1 communication

And build influence with yourself

Its as simple as writing a sentence down of whatever you want to think & embody
The Final part of this thread

Why wasn't communication taught?

Why were we expected to figure it out?
A lot of education has the industrial age mindset

It's goal was to create workers

And in the industrial age, the workers were required to do repetitive tasks
A worker with supreme communication skills asks too many questions

And is too flexible with the mind

Is a worker with a flexible mind high ROI or low ROI from a factory owner who wants them to do REPETITIVE tasks?

'Uh...low ROI?'

Correct
This is why communication skills to build, refine & express ideas were not taught

What was taught was grammar

But grammar is a spec of all the 5 levels I was discussing earlier
Viewing grammar as all of communication is like viewing...

The car as the steering wheel

Sure, the steering wheel serves a purpose

But there are still the mirrors, accelerator, brakes, driver, etc

Focus big picture
In the information age, it's not about who can do repetitive work

That's just a part of it

It's about who can do impactful work
Impactful work requires communication

Because impactful work always comes down to:

Idea connection
Idea creation
Idea expression
If you can't express ideas, then you took away 6 inches from your height homie

Back to the basics

Back to level 1 communication

Back to building influence with yourself
Sell yourself before you try to sell others

And build a holistic view of life in the process

In school, memorization is rewarded.

In the real world, understanding is.
Understanding leads to memorization of the right things

Memorization does not always lead to an understanding of the right things.
Let's talk a bit about the difference between school education and real world education

Just because the 2 phrases have 'education' does not mean they are being used the same way

Mentality HACK:

View boring tasks as 'focus sharpeners'

-doing the dishes
-folding laundry
-cleaning your room

Exercising your focus in one area of your life spills over to other parts

While everyone is doing these tasks with negativity, you're doing it to level up your mind
With the right lens, anything becomes an opportunity to build focus

The ability to stay in the present
Boring tasks are a great candidate because of the pattern

'Pattern with what?'

Pattern with the gym...

The secret to creativity is a lack of planning.
That's not to say discipline is lacking.

'But a lacking of planning means a lack of discipline, no?'

Not quite..

Maintain discipline

Be unpredictable with content
Structured chaos is the name of the game.

Creativity can be an excuse to live a life of a slob

But that's misguided thinking

Social Law:

1. Keep your friend circle small. This allows for stronger bonds & fewer snakes.

2. Keep your acquaintance circle large. This allows for more versatility & networking opportunities.
'Seems like the law is backwards?'

Nope.

It's in the correct way

Mistaking it as being backwards will cause a lot of tension...
Are you aware of the difference between a friend and an acquaintence?

'Sort of.'

Let's turn that 'sort of' into a 'yes.'

Self-education is different from education.

1. Education is when you learn something because you have to.

2. Self-education is when you learn because you want to.
In a world where people educate, self educate

That's how you stick out
Learning for fun seems like a foreign concept.

'That's because it is!'

No, it's not.

'Yes, it is..'

Actually let's put the spotlight on you
