I talked with 5 content creators who each have 100K+ followers.

Here are 10 things I learned from them:
1/ Use keyboard shortcuts for FAQs & FULs

Create keyboard shortcuts for frequently asked questions & frequently used links.

This will save you time, but more importantly, it will save you the mental energy from having to constantly retype the same answers and links.
Here are a few examples of my keyboard shortcuts:

• twi = twitter.com/AlexAndBooks_
• podca = alexandbooks.com/podcast
• bestb = alexandbooks.com/bestbooks
• newsl = alexandbooks.com/newsletter
• youtub = youtube.com/c/alexandbooks

youtube.com/c/alexandbooks
2/ Answer comments via laptop

If you have a lot of comments or DMs to get through respond while on your laptop.

Why?

You can type 2-3x times faster on a keyboard than on your phone.

Again saving you time and mental energy.
3/ Build deeper relationships with voice & video

Answering comments via laptop is great for quantity...

But if you want quality responses use your phone.

With your phone you can answer DMs with voice or video messages and build a deeper connection with your followers.
3/ Have a smile folder

Anytime someone shares a positive comment/DM about your work, screenshot it & put it in your smile folder.

You can revisit this folder anytime you're feeling down & can also use the screenshots as testimonials when selling any future products or services.
4/ Batch your content creation

Switching tasks will make you less productive.

If you're writing a Twitter thread, it's much easier to start writing another one then to start setting up equipment to record a YT video.

Have dedicated times (or days) for creating content.
Additional tip:

If you batch your content creation process you can then schedule your content to be posted at the time when your audience is most engaged.

5/ Have one brand to rule them all

You want to have a uniform brand so people who follow you on one platform can instantly recognize you on another platform.

Have the same:

• profile pic
• bio description
• account handle
6/ Use collabs as an excuse to network

Will a collab with a fellow content creator gain you thousands of followers?

Probably not.

You'll likely gain a few dozen followers, but more importantly, you'll begin to build a relationship with a fellow content creator.

But that...
One collab will be the start of a relationship where you can discuss:

• content ideas
• growth strategies
• business opportunities

Opening one door today can lead to many more open doors tomorrow.
7/ Content really is king

The 80/20 rule for success in social media is creating great content.

The hashtags, captions, photo editing, description, and everything else is all icing on the cake.

Spend 80% of your time on the content and 20% on the minor details.
8/ Have A CTA or Be MTA

Once you have someone's attention, don't let it go to waste.

Have a call to action (CTA) or you'll be missing the action (MTA).

Tell people to:

• follow you
• share your content
• or some other action
Pro tips about CTAs:

-Limit it to 2 per post. Too many CTAs and people won't do any of them.

-If your Twitter post goes viral, add another tweet & tell people to follow you and sub to your newsletter.

-If your IG post goes viral, edit the caption & tell people to follow you.
9/ Don't Babysit Your Posts

Checking on your post every 5 mins won't help it go viral.

And checking how many likes/followers you're gaining will give you a dopamine rush but it won't help you grow your audience.

The ONLY thing that will help you grow is creating more content.
10/ Focus on the process & not the goal

Every content creator has the goal of having 100k+ followers.

But that's not going to help you get there.

What will help is focusing on the process.

Post 3-5 quality posts a week, every week for years & you'll get to 100k eventually.
TL;DR:

1. Use keyboard shortcuts
2. Respond via laptop
3. Have a smile folder
4. Batch your content creation
5. Have a uniform brand
6. Use collabs as an excuse to network
7. Content really is king
8. Have A CTA or Be MTA
9. Don't Babysit Your Posts
10. Focus on the process
That's it for now!

Here are 12 universal lessons that will help you grow on any social media platform 👇
1/ Repackage & Repurpose Your Content

If you created a great piece of content, don't let it go to waste.

Take the time to repackage it and distribute it onto other social media platforms.

You don't have to repurpose everything, focus on your most popular content first.
3 Ways to repurpose your Twitter content:

1) Screenshot your most popular tweets and turn it into a carousel post on Instagram.

2) Take your most popular thread and make a YouTube video about it.

3) Expand your most popular thread into a blog or Reddit post.

1/ Tips from @micjm:

-Think of your Twitter account as a channel that provides people with quality content.

-If you water down your signal-to-noise ratio, people will notice and start to pay less attention to your tweets.

Alright let's do this.

1 retweet = 1 harsh reading truth
No one book is a match for everyone.

Even if a book has 10,000+ 5-star ratings, you might not enjoy it.
You have time to read books, you just aren't prioritizing it.

Twitter is the most powerful social media platform in the world.

However, most people don't know how to use it effectively.

Here are 10 tips that will help you master Twitter...
1/ Allow Me To Introduce Myself

Your Twitter profile is your new business card.

People should be able to quickly understand who you are and what you have to offer.

Pick your banner photo purposefully.

And have a link in your bio so people can learn more about you.

Example:
2/ Content Is King But Format Is Queen

Spacing and formating matters.

When making a list, put the shorter words on top and the longer ones on the bottom.

Bad:

• Banana
• Apple
• Blueberry

Better:

• Apple
• Banana
• Blueberry
