David Borer: When TSA was created after 9/11, Repubs didn't want TSA to be unionized. AFGE fought for that in Congress & has fought ever year since then. We were finally able to get an election in 2011; we were allowed limited collective bargaining rights

Rick: It's like people have forgotten how to behave now that they're being set loose.
David: We just ask people to relax, treat others nicely.

David Borer: TSA workers had to come to work for free during the gov't shutdown. Once word got out, the public treated us so nicely. We'd like them to treat us nicely again.

David Borer: Teachers are treated like heroes when they throw themselves in front of a school shooter, but when they ask for a nickel more in pay, they're called communists & treated like pariahs.

David Borer: We're proud that we've signed up most of the TSA officers--we have 90% support in Philly. It's a constant battle, keeping up. We expect to be able to organize 10-20,000 more people with the new ruling on full collective bargaining rights.

David Borer: The VA is our best contract & is our most mobilized group. They're doing a terrific job in the VA.

David Borer: Public sector workers take an oath to perform their job, and they take that oath very seriously. A lot of our TSA officers quit what they were doing to sign up w/ TSA after 9/11 to do their part for our country.

David Borer: We want to flip the switch & go back to normal. Pres. Biden is working on that. Trump had slashed our due process rights, reduced our collective bargaining rights, & shredded our union rights for representation on the job. We had a 3 yr battle in courts

David Borer: One of the first things Pres. Biden did when he took office was make an Executive Order to undo what Trump did to our union rights.

David Borer: It's much less expensive to pay federal workers to do the job than to outsource it to another group.
Rick: Outsourcing always comes up when there are Republicans in office.

David Borer: We're 50,000 people short in the VA. We're talking about 10 empty VA centers, if you add it all up. The VA agencies were decimated by the last guy.

David Borer: We always have high expectations, but compared to the Obama & Clinton administrations, we're pleased with the Biden admin.
Rick: Biden's the most pro-union President of my lifetime.
