I would write with him. I would tour with him. I would want to hear what he has to say. That is more than I can say for almost all of the folks we consider greats.

Katt is every bit as smart as Dave and arguably has better instincts for Black love. Dave is just more legible...to white people and to aspirationally anxious Black people.

His illegibility to white audiences is part of why I enjoy him and why he can be as smart as he is, when he is. But I repeat myself.

I also think Katt hates Black women less than his, uh, peers. Just to put that out there. He ain’t perfect but I don’t think he has Chris’ seething hatred of us or Dave’s studied distance from us. That will always get you points in my book.

I have been a Black woman for a long time and I know a Black man who wouldn’t nod at me in an elevator when I see one, is all I am saying.

But since I was hacked...I also thought some of Dave’s trans skit was about his distance from Black women because a strain of man associates trans-ness with a Black woman stereotype that they viscerally reject.

Anyway, I have got to stop getting hacked.
