as a great place to start. Also painfreebirth on IG has some great resources that kind of blew my mind. The mind-body connection is not to be underestimated and I think women are intentionally severed from it from the moment we reach reproductive age (via hormonal bc, etc)

so it’s really a huge process of deconditioning that I and many women go through when we get pregnant... we receive no messages that tell us we can trust our bodies and the process of birth, which is just so counterintuitive and causes so much fear which leads to pain.

fear literally causes the body to tense up which can actually stop labor (i.e. when a predator is near and we need to find a safer place, or when an impatient nurse implies we’re not dilating on schedule, yikes). So yeah, it’s a crazy world; definitely not an expert

but I highly recommend everyone who plans on giving birth, impregnating someone, or really anyone who was born to look into it! :)
