Counties w/highest cumul. COVID cases per capita:
1. Chattahoochee County, GA (39.2%)
2. Crowley County, CO
3. Bent County, CO
4. Dewey County, SD
5. Lincoln County, AR
6. Lake County, TN
7. Dimmit County, TX
8. Bon Homme County, SD
9. Norton County, KS
10. Trousdale County, TN
Counties w/highest cumul. COVID *deaths* per capita:
1. Foard County, TX (1 out of every 116 residents)
2. Galax, VA
3. Hancock County, GA
4. Jerauld County, SD
5. Emporia, VA
6. Gove County, KS
7. Gregory County, SD
8. Iron County, WI
9. Turner County, SD
10. Dickey County, ND
There's now just 39 counties which haven't reported any COVID-19 deaths to date (out of over 3,100 nationally). Total population: 93,000.

Meanwhile, as cases and deaths thankfully drop off (hopefully permanently?), the cumulative rates for each continue to be slightly higher in red counties overall.

Yesterday, @DrSriram (who I have great respect for) snidely claimed that those who support a PO over M4All define "universal" coverage as "excluding reproductive rights."

I noted in passing that some (not all) M4All folks are willing to do just that. This was his response: 1/
So I decided to check something. Now, obviously this isn't remotely scientific and I have no idea who most of those who voted are. HOWEVER... 2/ Image
You'll see that several folks who responded appear to be pretty sincere both in their argument for doing exactly this *if* that's what it took.

One, in fact, is the co-chair of the Detroit DSA Single Payer community...who I also respect. 3/

πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘ WA, CO & NV have now each passed their own versions of a Public Option (WA's has actually been running for a year already).

There's caveats on all three--WA & CO's are only "quasi-public," while NV's won't actually be implemented for a few years...but this is still huge.

As @CMSGov confirmed yesterday, the total number of Americans who would lose healthcare coverage if the Supreme Court strikes down the #ACA is likely over 31 million...and possibly as high as 35 million by my estimates in a worst-case scenario. acasignups.net/21/06/05/aspe-…
Anyway, as always, @SCOTUSblog will be live-blogging this morning's opinions, which start at 10am. Opinions are posted every 10 minutes. There's 23 cases left to announce from this session, presumably between now and June 30, minus weekends.

--17 states +DC have vaccinated >50% of their *entire* populations
--Mississippi is no longer the least-vaccinated state! They've bypassed Alabama. Image
--Massachusetts & DC should break 60% of their *total* populations vaccinated in the next few days
--Delaware & Minnesota should break 50% in the next few days
--Missouri & Indiana should break 40% in the next few days
--Idaho & Louisiana should break 35% in the next few days Image

Say it with me: SEVERE PAIN IS AN EMERGENCY WHETHER THE CAUSE ITSELF TURNS OUT TO BE LIFE-THREATENING OR NOT.
A few years back I was rushed by my wife to the ER with agonizing pain at 4am. I feared it was appendicitis. It turned out to just be a nasty kidney stone...but how the hell was I supposed to know that at the time???
When the bill showed up, it was $600 thanks to my being insured. "Official" price was $6,000.
