We thought the CPAC meeting was tonight, but it's next Monday 😅 our bad!
BUT it's okay, still going to share the additional information with y'all.
After our thread last week, Ben Harris sent this email out to his volunteers. You can read through our original thread and read his email. This COLLECTIVE (not coalition) is not trying to polarize this organization.
In fact, we don't care much about your organization. Your commitment is to first responders aka the police and fire fighters, and that's cute for you.
Our issue is that the city is paying for this service and telling citizens this is the alternative we asked for. It's not.
Ben also tries to distance himself from his brother Josh in this email. Saying he bailed out the officers, as if he isn't doing anything to support them...
When actually, Ben setup a whole new account to financially support the three officers and their families last week...through Tacoma Pierce County Chaplaincy.
April is actually one of the Public Safety Chaplains for Tacoma Pierce County Chaplaincy.
So, tell us again why we should trust the Community Trauma Response Team that the city so proudly boasted about last week? THIS is our alternative?
The city is paying this organization a total of $126,804 to do this work.
Per the city's contract, they can terminate it. Email cpac@cityoftacoma.org and let them know we want them to end this contract, now.
