just cut to the chase + ask someone what their null hypothesis is. what would they accept, in theory. any story about individuals is just an anecdote. any generalization is “just” a generalization so it cant be applied to individuals. make them admit theres nothing theyd accept.
so many discussions can be accelerated 1000% by just taking this route. its the hidden snake eating its tail of modern social programming. cant make claims based on individual instances. also cant make claims based on generalizations. its a double bind, no assessment is possible.
whenever i happen to post about a vice (rare, now, i think, used to do it more), i get people obviously coping in replies. “thats just ur experience”. sometimes out of curiosity ill play it out with them. okay, heres some data. “thats a generalization, not everyone is like that”.
alright, so u made a bubble wherein no critique is possible. u can easily transfer this to many contentious social issues. just ask what they would accept. usually this catches people off guard because they never considered this, its at least interesting to observe in practice.

a friends gf likes reality tv, have watched a little with them for ethnographic purposes. i read a media analysis book long ago that correctly observed (at the time, this was in the 2000s) that on the first iteration of reality shows, like 'the real world', for example [...]
people would get in crazy fights as you expect and do all kind of things, but would never say to someone they were fighting with "youre just doing this for the cameras", or "youre just saying that because we're on TV". they would never puncture that bubble of reality.
i have noticed now that this is not the case, and that it changed slowly over time. now, people will say something like that, and you may even see the producers intervene, there is a meta-level of awareness wherein the documentation is not something that must be kept in obscurity

weird energy in the dead sea scrolls. remember reading about albert pike (was he philip k dicks priest?) dying in the desert where they were found after going out with no water. they have this ominousness, like if u were looking for the wrong thing in them, they would consume you
obviously they are not nefarious in and of themselves, but to me they have always had the aura of a strange power, like a chemical a man in a lab takes off the shelf for extremely specific purposes only after warning the interns. why were they locked in the caves for so long
lol. the priests name is james pike, but his middle name is albert, which means his name contains the name of one of the most famous freemasons (just makes it weirder). the story about his death is very odd. he and wife roll out into the desert with just two cokes and no water.

Tbh it’s absolutely incredible the degree to which birth is seen as a medical condition. This hyper-medicalization basically inverts everything natural about birth and inhibits a normal, intervention-free experience. I’d recommend Ina May Gaskin’s Guide to Childbirth [...]

gonna make a thread about something that may seem profoundly strange and potentially kind of deranged by outsiders who dont get it but i think thats kind of why we're all here, before i head into work today (good morning)
so my wife is pregnant, and has gotten into this interesting world online. its somewhat difficult to describe. to be honest, if you imagine the general masculine sphere here, but its feminine, and instead of weird diets and weightlifting its giving birth, thats what its like.
thats a solid parallel because it has all the same features of getting "redpilled" about certain topics and "the truth" about XYZ and it has to do with the natural nature of the gender but its all centered around pregnancy and being a woman instead of being a man, basically.
