Masks work.

Turns out universal masking (on all,@UniversalMaski2), works much better than just as source control.

Thank goodness you killed that! Image
In settings with higher respiratory particle concentration, N95'S might be needed.

It mentions healthcare, but what about cashiers surrounded by antimaskers/antivaxxers?

@Marc_Perrone -this is key for your union. Image

Demasking America. Done by @CDCDirector , #HenryWalke, in a stunning abrogation of their responsibilities to Americans.

To public health.

This is a barn-burner. A must read.

A few highlights.
Ed pointed out something that I had been searching for both in reading and in my writing.

Walensky framed the demasking in terms of individual responsibility. Image
Her nauseating tweet from the stately pleasure domes of the elites' Xanadu.

My apologies for a RT of a RT of a RT - required because commenting directly to Dr. Saxinger would result in typos, etc (looking for our edit button, @jack).

And Dr. Saxinger has a great point here, which deserves an adequate response.

Because her observation cuts both ways.
N95's are most definitely not the only slice of the Swiss cheese model used by Singapore.

Their other enhanced measures were also aimed at reduction of airborne (via aerosols) transmission, whether labelled as such or not.

Minus those other transmission slices?

It makes...
N95's and even N100's even MORE important, actually.

You'll see what I mean.

N100's? Quick elastomeric respirator plug here (cheaper, safer, more comfortable).

There is valuable outreach here!

"Vaccinate or Intubate"

I posted @WesElyMD's video to TikTok yesterday.

119,000 views (went up 2,000 views in the time it took to write this).

Sure, I now Image
have a ton of hate mail to deal with, but a ton of appreciative mail as well.

@WesElyMD - please thank the patient and his wife for me. Their sacrifice has reached a ton of new people....and mostly younger folks, to boot.
Looks like it's slowing down.

This video was viewed 299,300 times.

Some fantastic educational opportunities in the comments I am starting to go through.

Seriously..."Vaccinate or Intubate".

Good for them!

But what about the cashiers in Krogers?

Some ammunition for you:

-when people go into the hospital, they actually are on the declining slope of infectiousness.

-hospitals have extraordinary ventilation. 6 ACH, usually at the minimum.
-plexiglass does squat for protecting cashier's.

I have sources for all if interested.

A 🧵 on vascular diseases caused by viruses - because CoVid attacks the vascular system throughout the body.

And "late effects" of viruses can happen years later.

Like with polio, 15 to 40 years later.
marchofdimes.org/news/after-eff…

And pinning down late effects can
be very difficult. By the time, the late effects kick in, a middle-aged person will have been exposed to hundreds of viruses.

The purpose of this thread is:

✅ I'm curious about the topic.
⚠️ Urge caution as we still don't know much about CoVid.
🚫 Not to shock.

"VZV (human herpesvirus 3) is a ubiquitous, exclusively human DNA virus. Primary infection occurs via respiratory aerosols or contact with vesicles from an infected individual and results in the characteristic disseminated rash of ...chickenpox."

@Olympics @japantimes @JPN_PMO @NBCOlympics @Tokyo_gov

If Dr. Greenhalgh, extremely accomplished and honored, is recommending canceling, then we should all pay attention.

Besides her recommendation, what about vaccine inequity?

The eyes of the world will be upon you.
If the athletes get the best vaccines, you will have many stories in the Japanese press about the deaths of the Japanese while the athletes enjoy the beauty of Japan.

If they don't get the best, then you will have the vaccine inequity stories. "USA wins again thanks to Pfizer!"
Plus, there will bound to be poorer nation athletes who get drastically sick in Japan.

A PR nightmare for Japan, and the Olympics.

This is a lose-lose for you. And the world.
