@Hadithoftheday Salman Al-Farisi R.A (The Persian)
Salman Al Farsi R.A was the Companion of the Prophet ﷺ. He travelled for years & years to meet the Prophet, was of similar age to our Nabi & also had the honour of being described as a member of the family of the Prophet by the Prophet himself
@Hadithoftheday Salman Al Farsi R.A was originally from Persia, and was a Zoroastrian and a Christian before embracing Islam.
Salman Al Farsi R.A had much experience, in warfare and its tactics in his native persia
@Hadithoftheday It was Salman Al Farsi R.A who gave the tactic of digging trenches on the day of Battle of Khandaq.
Muslims won that battle without any actual fighting.
@Hadithoftheday In the battle of Khandaq,
Trenches or khandaqs were dug around the city of Madina to protect the muslims and to defend city of madina from the enemies.
This brilliant idea was given by Salman Al-Farsi R.A who was a persian companion of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ
@Hadithoftheday Battle of Khandaq is also called as Battle of Trench. It is also referred to as the battle of confederates. The Battle of Khandaq took place in the fifth year of hijri after 2 years of Battle of Uhud. As per scholars,It started in the month of Shawwal & continued till Dhul-Qadah
@Hadithoftheday Every capable Muslim in Medina including Prophet Muhammad ﷺ contributed to digging the massive trench in six days.
It took Muslims 6 whole days of hard work to dig it. Salman Al Farsi R.A was the originator of the project to dig the trench.
This battle lasted for 27-30 days.
@Hadithoftheday Ahzab is another name for the Battle of Khandaq, which was given this name due to the trenches (khandaqs) dug around Madinah upon the order of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in order to stop the attack of the enemy easily.
@Hadithoftheday The name Ahzab (groups) was given to the battle because along with he Qurayshi polytheists, Jews and many other Arab tribes and groups came together in order to attack Madinah.
@Hadithoftheday When the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was informed about the situation, he summoned the Companions and consulted them.

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked them, “Shall we fight the enemy outside Madinah? Or shall we stay in Madinah and defend the city?”
@Hadithoftheday Meanwhile, Salman al-Farisi said,“O Messenger of Allah! When we were afraid of the attacks of cavalrymen in Persia,we would dig trenches around the city and defend it.”
The offer was regarded as reasonable by both the Messenger of Allah ﷺ & the Companions & the decision was made
@Hadithoftheday They decided to stay in Madinah and dig trenches around the city; so, they would defend the city from the enemy attack. Thus, defending the city was preferred to fighting in the open air.
The reason why the Prophet ﷺ preferred such a method was to prevent shedding much blood
@Hadithoftheday The activity of digging trenches started immediately upon the order & advice of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.The Prophet ﷺ himself determined what places would be dug by whom. The Prophet ﷺ himself dug trenches too,& encouraged the Muslims to finish the trenches as soon as possible
@Hadithoftheday Salman Al Farsi R.A had much experience, in warfare and its tactics in his native Persia. So he proposed to the Prophet ﷺ something which the Arabs had never seen before in warfare. It was the digging of a trench in the exposed places around Al-Medina.
@Hadithoftheday The commanders of Muslims in this battle were Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, Ali Ibn Abi Talib R.A & Salman Farsi R.A.
All Muslims, even the children, worked very hard to dig trenches
@Hadithoftheday When Abu Sufyan, the leader of the Makkan disbelievers (at that time, later accepted Islam) ,saw the ditch, he said, "This strategy has not been employed by the Arabs before".
Muslim won this battle very easily, Although Muslims were just 3,000 and enemy forces were 10,000 approx
@Hadithoftheday On the Day of Al-Khandaq the Ansar stood up and said, 'Salman is of us,' the Muhajirun stood up also and said, 'Salman is of us.The Prophet ﷺ called to them saying, 'Salman is of us, O People of the House (Prophet ﷺ's house).
Ali lbn Abi Talib R.A nicknamed him 'Luqman the Wise

There came to Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, a woman from the tribe of Ghamid.
The woman approached him and said, “O Allah’s Messenger, I have committed adultery, so purify me.”
The Prophet’s eyes filled with grief and he turned away from her, dismissing her from the gathering.
The next day, al-Ghamidiyyah returned and once again publicly confessed her crime. “O Allah’s Messenger, why do you turn me away?”
"By Allah, I have become pregnant!”
Prophet Muhammad ﷺ answered, “If you insist upon it (the punishment), then leave and return only after you give birth.”
Months later, al-Ghamidiyyah returned to Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, with her baby wrapped in blankets.
