BIG: In what could be seen as first geopolitical victory for Houthi Ansarullah in #Yemen, a deal has been reached where #Sanaa International Airport will be reopened for civil and commercial flight.

The new peace deal includes:

1) Saudi-led coalition will fully reopen Sanaa airport & Hudaydah seaport

2) In return, Ansarullah will cease drone or cross border attacks inside Saudi territories

3) Most importantly: #Sanaa government will DIRECTLY ENGAGE with Saudi government

The new peace deal was officially signed by Yemeni national delegation leader Mohamed Abdul Salam and SPC president Mahdi al-Mashat on 8 June 2021, with the presence of Omani delegates (who represents on behalf of House of Saud).

Some notes on Ansarullah-Saudi peace deal (or Sanaa-Riyadh treaty):

1) Does NOT include the ongoing battle in #Marib and all internal fronts in #Yemen

2) It was carried forward by Amerikan Empire proposal to reopen both Sanaa airport & Hudaydah seaport

The fact that this new peace deal calls for direct talks/negotiations between Sanaa government and Saudi regime in Riyadh is a massive political victory for Houthis. Ansarullah had been wanting a direct Houthi-Saudi talk, not Houthi-Hadi talk since Hadi is a puppet tyrant.

By getting to engage directly with House of Saud, this will no longer put Houthi Ansarullah as some rebel group but as equal footing as legitimate representative authority and segment of Yemeni population. All attempts to discredit Ansarullah from Yemeni society has failed.

Another win for Houthi Ansarullah on this new peace deal is the fact that they no longer have to trade reopening of Sanaa airport & Hudaydah seaport with nationwide ceasefire in Yemen. Ansarullah will stop attacks in Saudi area, but war against Hadi/Islah will resume in #Marib.

In other words, the border front in Saudi area is separate matter from nationwide battles in #Yemen. Resolving internal conflicts will be holding a separate negotiation between Sanaa revolutionary government & each entities in Marib (Islah), Aden (UAE-STC), & Mocha (Tareq Saleh).

Just like the battle of Sadah (2011), Dammaj (2014), and Sanaa (21 Sept 2014), Houthi Ansarullah are going to score another big political win where they have the upper hand to impose their conditions on US-Saudi-backed reactionaries.

High ranking Ansarullah leaders such as @Moh_Alhouthi caution with the new deal, eg. emphasizing that the new peace treaty proposed by US Empire will only be implemented the moment US stops selling weapons and aircraft to Saudi-led coalition.

The new peace agreement also has mixed reactions from anti-aggression Yemeni activists. Most of them cheered it by stating its a victory for resistance in Yemen, but also pessimistic that US and Saudis will stop their aggression in Yemen completely.

FYI, war in Yemen isn't over yet nor its coming to an end.
