"10 Brilliant Psychology Hacks to Master Your Self-Discipline"

🧵 THREAD TIME: 👇
Like everything else that brings progress, the greatest struggle is always within ourselves.

That's why you need to learn self-discipline.
Here are 10 Psychology hacks to make you more disciplined: 👇
1. Engage with your vision daily

Failure to engage with your dreams every day = emotional detachment = no incentive to do the work.

Allow yourself to feel the joy & power that comes with dreaming. Meditating daily cultivates this.

Consistency = great results.
2. Start small

The more abrupt the change, the harder your mind, and body will find accepting it.

Allow yourself time to get used to the change.
Small changes serve two purposes:

1. it allows you enough time to digest what you’re going through.
2. it gives you a first-hand experience of reality.
3. Use Time Blocks

Assign a time for yourself every day, just to do ur task.
Block it out like a meeting, turn all distractors off, close all tabs that are unrelated
Whether ur task is 10 minutes or 1 hour, make it a ritual to block out time & clear distractions before u begin
4. Have a Small, Clear, Goal Every Day.

Set definite goals, contemplate your action plan, and let it in motion.
Stay focussed and remember it is an acquired habit and just like other skills will require willpower to make it work.

Remember once you have set goals it becomes a bit easier with time to follow them.
5. Celebrate your wins daily

Winning feels good. Find ways to feel good every day and you’ll commit to your goals over the longterm far easier.

Big dreams ≠ big actions.

Big dreams = small actions achieved frequently.

Celebrate the small stuff. Let them compound.
6. Don't Expect Perfection

Don't expect yourself to perform perfectly every time.
If you hold yourself to an unachievable standard of perfection,
you'll only succeed in making yourself feel inadequate.

When you fail, forgive yourself, get up and move forward.
7. Don’t Wait for Motivation

Everyone wants to be “motivated,” but in truth, you likely do 1000 tasks you hate for your employer every day.

You don’t wait for motivation there, so why wait for yourself? Just sit down, form a plan, and get to work
8.Track progress

Find a way to track the progress you’re making.

A habit becomes easier to develop when you associate a real-life visible thing with it.
9. Work before responding to the world

Proactive mode > Reactive mode.

Proactive mode = priming your mind & body for work.

Reactive mode = overwhelming your brain with everyone else’s business.

A question to answer:
- What's the highest leverage action I can take today?
10. Watch Your Language.

When you talk to yourself or others, don’t say, “I hope to,” but say “I will.”

These tweaks to your language make a difference.

One sets you up for failure and an excuse, the other is taking charge of your outcome.

"Meditation for those who think they can't meditate"

🧵 THREAD TIME: 👇
The first thing is the mindset towards meditation. There's a specific image that people have in their heads.

The sitting upright, cross legged on the floor image with absolutely no thoughts in your head is what people think meditation is.
It is meditation, but it's pretty advanced, & not good for beginners.
Number one, to meditate upright, u need perfect posture, which isn't going to be possible for the average person.
Ppl who do sports or some other athletic activity could sit like this, but not the layman
