I passed a KFC in Redding CA yesterday advertising $16/hour for new hires. Problem with that is they cut your hours so you are considered part time with no benefits

Another fast food is offering $14/hour but they keep your hours just under the cap with little or no benefits. Now that might be great for a high school kid working to make a few bucks, but it doesn’t help if you are a single mom or dad with kids trying to get by.

This altered message coming from the media and even locally (I hear it all the time) about people not wanting to work is ridiculous. People have figured out that working at a fast food place maybe isn’t what they want to do? OR if they want to do it, they need a 2nd job

There’s nothing wrong with working at a franchise food place. But suggesting that people should have their benefits yanked to they will go back to work isn’t going to work in the long run. Providing a good work environment (in any kind of business) is what people want now
