That I'd rather eat a cold bag of @friendlyjordies' sick than endure his tedious YouTubes notwithstanding, solidarity to the media worker on his team arrested by NSW police in the course of making media.
If you are a media worker or a worker of any kind, consider doing the same.
It's true that @friendlyjordies elected not to join the union for his trade, the @withMEAA. Then again, @withMEAA is pretty fucking slack recruiting and didn't clock @caitoz as a HUGE get when I forced her to come to a meeting.
Either way. This arrest is an issue for our union.
As an optimist with no memory for hypocrisy, I'm always shocked by the refusal of local media to support a Greste but not an Assange or a Whatsit Underpants but not an Assange. Or freedom for a crazed white nationalist politician like Navalny but not a Syndey kid with a camera.
Solidarity is a lot less trouble in the end. You give it even when you don't expect it in return If you support freedom for some, you're an "ally" who wastes time checking that your cause is acceptable to your mates. A comrade wants freedom for each and for all.
If I know the comrades at @AusUnemployment I know that they will give solidarity unconditionally to the worker of the @friendlyjordies franchise arrested by NSW police.
Won't you, @AusUnemployment?
Comrades.
Oh. Cool. Of course they will. @AusUnemployment members are the only fuckers retweeting my whining about this legit union matter.
There you go @friendlyjordies. You can outright lie about a free association of workers, but those comrades stand with you regardless.
OTOH, my audience these days is exclusively the @AusUnemployment membership. Which I really don't mind a bit.
Anyhoo. Don't be picking and choosing a cause for your "allyship." This is how it takes 73 years of massacre for all your fave Progressive Australian Journalists to tweet one thing about Palestine.
Solidarity to the worker arrested at work for working.
Here's to this NSW politician whose support for a media worker silenced by police at work while working is very welcome.
Whatever you think about the shooter's party.
Now. Everyone else. If we could just have a word about a chap called Julian Assange?
Some rather decent words assembled for @friendlyjordies and the arrested worker on his team by young Dean, definitely an @AusUnemployment official and probably the comrade-worker whose weekly podcast I ruined by speaking at him for 8 un-edit-ablr hours.

A true socialist and even a labourist must extend both symbolic and, if possible, material support to every worker under the boot at work, regardless of their future hopes. Fuck allies. @friendlyjordies has comrades, whether he answers my email or not!
Theoretically,.we could "rip" @friendlyjordies 'cos it'd have 0% effect on your election outcome which will in turn have 0% effect on the lives of the many in the nation-state. We won't, 'cos today he's a worker in trouble ergo of 0% concern to the ALP.

Editors: The Australian iteration of purported Fight Homelessness enterprise the @BigIssue has a board packed with finance industry personnel who have turned their backs on vendors. Oh. They also enjoy a CEOs Sell The Big Issue day.
The revulsion many homeless people feel when another "CEO Sleepout" unfolds is the entirely justified response I imagine might greet the @SBS LARP obscenity, Filthy Rich & Homeless, or this, now deleted, @BigIssue promotion. Image
When the egoistic pile of illusory bullshit Filthy Rich & Homeless (celebrity edition) premiered on SBS, I asked a participant how in fuck they thought it could achieve anything but their own sense of smug. They answered by sending me a @wef report.

Why are you not acting on Assange?
Did you see an inspirational talk on Better Living through embrace of your Inner Cop?
If not, speak up.
First, they took the journalists.

And there was no one to speak up.

@Peter_Fitz @smh Perhaps now you could begin hounding government about the past 35 years of upward wealth distribution.
@Peter_Fitz @smh Do consider most of us have little interest in this tale of "corruption" on account of being broke and knowing already that politicians are corrupt.
It's the lawful corruption of neoliberal era economics that has led to levels of wealth inequality unseen since the Depression.
@Peter_Fitz @smh There's more than one reason eyeballs are turning from conventional news and commentary, Peter. I'd say that the biggest one is the widespread failure to acknowledge that more everyday lives are dumped in the toot event day.
This story is told for the pleasure of a tiny class.

Lord and savoury relish. Anyone viewed that peculiar Invasion Day propagandist ad on the telly? They're selling its observance like taxes: a regrettably legal responsibility for the common good.
Here, for your consideration, is the miserable campaign to endure the national day.
As is case with most "content", the piece o' shit is more interesting for the assumptions it contains than its imagined capacity to harm or help "the public".
It's like they're asking me to save fat for the war effort or report suspicious activity or something.
It is Your Duty to have a fucken barbecue.

By all means, rubbish socialism. But, it might help if you examine our reeking trash pile first.
It is not only the thing that didn't help middling "thinkers" accumulate Sydney property.
It is not the mild social democracy of the Labour Manifesto. At all.
To be clear, today's critics of so-called socialism are, in fact, standard middlebrow opponents of Roosevelt's New Deal. They're fans of the neoclassical "balance" regime that shat itself in 2008 & should apply in writing to the Mont Pelerin Society for the role of arse licker
I know that it's a bother to learn the difference between a Bolshevik and FA Hayek, let alone the subtleties that separate a Blairite from an actual human person.
But. You know. The Labour Manifesto was not socialist. It was not Thatcherite. It was postwar social democracy.

To be fair, Naomi Wolf needs to apologise to me for twenty years straight of shit lib feminism.
Naomi Wolf also needs to apologise to Foucault for ripping off The History of Sexuality with all the skill of a first year on triple Adderall.
And she probably should apologise to her own vagina.
