Hillary Clinton was the victim of Monica Lewinsky’s consensual affair with Bill Clinton. Monica Lewinsky was a victim of the press and her own poor judgment. Don’t get it twisted.

I don’t infantilize women. I do not believe grown women cannot consensually date their boss. I believe they should not be coerced/threatened/bribed/pressured/cajoled like what Weinstein did. There was never any evidence BC did that to ML. She claimed she pursued him.

Now she wants to squeeze herself into the metoo movement and pretend she’s a victim of Hillary—the woman whose husband she eagerly f-ed. Not today.

If you want to say a woman can never consent to sex with/dating her boss and/or a man who is more powerful than her because of the power imbalance alone even if she pursues him, that’s weirdly infantilizing to me and not even consistent with the law on workplace sexual harassment

The fact is enthusiastic consent is the gold standard. Any adult can enthusiastically consent to any other adult. Does that means it’s a good idea? Absolutely not. But let’s not pretend this was not enthusiastic consent. Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk

Pretty transparent y’all want to recast Monica Lewinsky as an abuse victim and Hillary Clinton as an abuser so you can somehow reconcile the cognitive dissonance in your warped brains that you refused to vote for Hillary over a literal rapist. I see you. You are fucking seen.

And let’s be crystal clear: I’ve got plenty of smoke for Bill too. He’s the one who took the vows and was most culpable in what he did to his family. And Monica is no victim. The only innocent parties here are Hillary and Chelsea. The end.

That’s actually not illegal or workplace harassment in and of itself if there is mutual consent. Not even today and certainly not in the 90s.

You think no one can consent to sleep with the president then? Is sex between consenting adults when there is a power imbalance in the relationship always wrong? Who decides? When is the person with less power allowed sexual agency?

Ok if the science supports the idea that people are not adults until 25, then we need to raise the age of consent/voting/banking/contract/drinking/military service to 25.

I’m really not cool with the broader idea here that enthusiastic consent is not enough because we deem an adult woman incapable of sexual agency in icky circumstances. I think it’s dangerous. I have a hard time believing this would be the case if the gender roles were reversed.

I don’t even like him guys. I really don’t. But I respect the hell out of Hillary and I really hate this victim paradigm shifting narrative that makes her the bad guy when she did not do a damn thing wrong. AND I have a prob with the broader implications about sexual agency here
