🧵 1/I'd like to direct everyone to this simple but excellent documentary about NESARA — an early conspiracy theory that resembles QAnon in many important ways. WAITING FOR NESARA (2005) captures elements we are still dealing with 16 years later.

2/NESARA was a piece of legislation (National Economic Stabilization and Recovery Act), allegedly passed by congress, and which would eliminate the IRS, Congress, and remove George W. Bush from office. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NESARA

3/Crucially, information pertaining to NESARA was communicated via telephone messages from the "Dove of Oneness," later revealed to be Shaini Candace Goodman, a member of the "I AM" cult offshoot, the Ramtha School of Enlightenment run by J.Z. Knight — a major Trump supporter.

4/Like QAnon, which was animated in part by "I AM" acolytes Lisa Clapier and Thomas "St. Germain" Schoenberger, NESARA believers said that St. Germain would meet with the world bankers to usher in a new financial order.

5/The "Dove of Oneness" was also said to be informed by special knowledge from the military and intelligence community, so-called "White Knights" working within government to "save the country" from the evil reptilian illuminati (note: not all are evil) who live among us.

6/Even today, promoters of QAnon themes such as Paul Vallely, Foster Gamble, and others speak of the influence of these "White Knights" or "White Hats" who are guiding world affairs from the shadows. NESARA directly informed the mythology of both Pizzagate and QAnon.

7/Interestingly, the specific NESARA group profiled in "WAITING" is a group of apostate Mormons; in some ways, the conspiracy/UFO world is a byproduct of the Mormon church and its urge to excommunicate members who then go on to even more radical belief systems.

8/We now can see a clear line between Blavatsky/Crowley theosophy -> Silver Shirts -> "I AM" -> John Birch Society -> Libertarianism -> Occupy (factions) -> NESARA -> QAnon. The main take away here? QAnon is not new. It is a continuously evolving historical public health threat.

9/The fact that this is not new is comforting in one sense, in that we have been dealing with this for decades. However, the internet has increased the scale and speed of the infection. We *must* get ahead of this, and we can do so if we understand the true nature of it.

10/While I have been aware of NESARA (and its variant, GESARA) for a while, the parallels to QAnon and reliance on "I AM" were not so glaring until I saw this documentary. So anyone working on understanding or stopping QAnon should definitely check this out.

11/NESARA was based on a proposal by Harvey Francis Barnard. His 1996 book "Draining the Swamp: Monetary and Fiscal Policy Reform" is relevant to the Trump era and the gold + crypto fetishism I have outlined in my "Big History" series.

13/And this article offers a very good profile of Shaini Candace Goodwin, truly a pioneer among internet cult scammers. I see a lot of similarities to the people we are tracking today.
